Crack In Lap Band Tubing

I had a lap band put in January 2008. I was having some complications and came to the conclusion that the band had to be removed. Doctor thought I had erosion but after an endoscopy, it showed no erosion. Went back to my doctor and he would put in 5cc of saline and only 1 - 2cc would come back. He did this several times and he thought I had a leak in my port. After having so many problems with vomiting and getting fills and un-fills, I decided to have my band removed instead of just having the port replaced. I went in last Friday and had the band removed on Saturday. My doctor told me after the surgery that there was a crack in the tubing halfway between the port and the band. Has anyone ever heard of this before? I was in the hospital for 5 days (I have a bleeding problem) but am already back to work and feeling good for the most part. I am glad to finally have this band out of me but am scared to gain all my weight back that I have lost.
