Hello everyone!! I'm back and banded! had a wonderful trip to Mexico had a wonderful time at the hospital everyone was super nice and took care of me very well.

Aside from shoulder pain I am doing very well. I was expecting much worse but Praise God I am not having nausea, abdominal pain or anything else. I do have mild port pain only when i cough or laugh.

Thanks for all the prayers and well wishes :)

congrats! It should be smooth sailing from here! May I ask, will you be getting your fills in Mexico? I am in Los Angeles County and am interested in a different fill doctor. Someone else suggested Mexico, but I am unfamiliar with traveling in and out of TJ for medical needs. I really want a doctor who does that fluoroscopy with the fill to make sure it's the correct amount. However I'd like to do it for a reasonable price. Was wondering if you share the contact information for your doctor in Mexico?

I wish you all the best!

Welcome back, Zeniada!! I wondered how you were doing! I'm glad you came through your surgery ok. I hope the gas pain subsides quickly but I have heard that shoulder pain can last for a while. I wonder why the shoulder is where it ends up hurting?

I can't wait to read about all your success!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
