i was told to wait for 6 wks to do any kind of strenous exercise but he did tell me to walk. i would think as long as you are moving and not hurting yourself or causing yourself any pain it would be ok. just take it easy. you might want to call your surgeon and just ask to be on the safe side. couldn't hurt since every dr anymore seems to be different. good luck!!

All of my friends call me a zumba maniac!!! I tried one class and I was hooked! I go at least three times a week and do the gym the other 4 days! I LOVE ZUMBA! I swear by it and have danced my whole life and was looking for a type of dance that adults could do! I LOVE, LOVE LOVE IT! I HIGHLY recommend!

I tried my first Zumba class. I got my 7 day trial pass at Bally and they offer the class three times a week. Their classes are free with membership. Once I get paid I'll pay a flat fee of $250 for one year's membership, then I can take all the Zumba I want, all over the country, with free child care. (There's typically not a year commitment, but figure for me I'll have to make the committment.) I'm so excited. It's much cheaper taking it through Bally then with the community center or taking Jazzercise (which I also love). I've also been using all their other equipment in addition to Zumba. Zumba really is a fun class!!! I feel great afterwards! I'm so glad that I found it, and for such a reasonable price and free child care!!!

OMG I love love love Zumba...I have never loved something so much as Zumba when it comes to working out....it is the best ever. I go all the time and follow my instructor to her other classes as well as her class in the gym. I could do it 5 days a week n more lol. We do Zumba parties and now there is a Zumba breast cancer one coming up for two hours of Zumba. It's so cool on how many people love Zumba lol it's the best. My daughter only dates spanish men and now she is living with her boy, he is columbian and so now it's cool because we can dance and he knows all the clubs to go to. it's awesome

Hi Everyone I'm a Zumba instructor and it's fun. The 1st exercise that's nonjudgemental. You don't have to know the step as long as you are moving and having fun that all that counts. It's better with a group of people than by yourself. I you go by yourself with 5minutes you will have a friend. so you will not feel alone.:) I say go for it. ZUMBA

I have not ever been a huge fan of group exercise, however, ZUMBA is different! The classes are full of positive energy and it really is sooooo non-judgmental - I love it. It's the first exercise I've ever done where I don't care what's shaking or how it looks. I'm not the fattest or the thinnest or the oldest or the youngest. I can do some of the moves, but am still learning others. That's how the entire class is! Our instructor is great. The only downside is the class is at a large community church and costs $5 per class. That can add up if you go multiple times a week! I think I will do it one or 2 times a week as a cross-training to the other exercise I do. 4-5 times in one week would add up quick! But hey, I used to spend that much on fast food per week, so I guess if you look at it that way - who cares!

You guys talked me into it. I just ordered the Zumba DVDs. I get tired of doing the treadmill and bike. Plus with 4 kids and 2 in afterschool activities, I sometimes can't make it to the gym.

I really want to try Zumbra, but I am ashamed to be the fat un-fit chick in the class. My 6YO daughter asked for the "Dance Your Ass Off" workout DVD and is having such fun with it. I can't wait to heal up and try it with her.

Girl please everyone in there for two purposes, to burn calories and have fun, its like nobody studying what each other is doing, I am the biggest one in my zumba class well i was but the 8 week session has ended, but I kept it moving and i found that some people was asking me how i kept up with the instructor lol because some of them was not catching the steps quickly but when they can't catch the steps they just keep dancing and do their own thing, but nobody is going to think of you that way but you, trust me thats what I was saying about myself but nobody was paying me any attention lol its all good:thumbup::biggrin::thumbup: DO ITTTT

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
