Hi everyone,

I am on week 4 of C25K and I don't know whether I should continue just because my knees are bothering me a bit. Not so much that I can't walk but they ache at the end of the day. I don't want to do any permanent damage and want your suggestions......continue to just do other cardio until I lose more weight and then start running again?

Thanks, Katie

I've had knee surgery on my right knee and when I started running again, my doctor said to just nurse if it's starting to bother me and I also started doing some yoga stretches that have helped.

I'm on week three. Right now I'm running only on the treadmill as it's easier on my joints. When the weather cools off, I want to start running outside. Good luck all!

How did you find running on the treadmill? I'm joining the gym this weekend and will be doing my couch 5k that way opposed to running outside? Do you find yourself having problems switching it up between the intervals? Do you keep a steady walking level and just run over the speed?

I like the treadmill. I keep a steady walk, then speed it up for the jogging intervals, then go back to my steady walk. It helps to keep track of my time and how far I go.

I'm DEFINITELY going to look into this.

I started running on the treadmill about 2 weeks ago and love it, but would love to follow some type of program with you all.

Thanks for posting about it!

I am interested to know how everyone is doing. My husband has agreed to start with me on 9/12. I'm looking forward to it now that I have dropped some lbs.

Let me just say this program is good but I think I was a little over optimistic as to what I could do, I gotta remember less than a year ago I was over 400 lbs and sitting on my butt daily lol. Needless to say I can't do the fully 60 seconds of jogging/running required for W1D1 so I will just keep repeating week 1 til I can then move from there, but just doing what I could I still shaved almost a minute off my fastest mile time!!

One question I got for the new walkers/runners, I have a bit of a panni and I noticed last night while jogging that the bouncing of it caused some extreme lower stomach pain during and after exercise, almost felt like I had pulled a muscle (didnt know fat could have muscles lol). Anyway how do any others with a bit of a panni compensate? I have some compression shorts I am gonna try but a idea that came to me while I was sleeping was to take a roll or 2 of Ace bandage and wrap up before the run, has anyone tried this?

Tonight I start week 2 day one of c25k. I can't wait! I was never a runner and I thought I would always hate it but I'm starting to like it and I can't wait till I can run for long periods at a time. It feels good!

You could try maybe one of these abdominal support belts?

I am finishing my Week 2 Day 3 tomorrow and moving onto Week 3. I can not believe how well I am doing in this program! I do feel like I could run more than the alloted time, but I am trying to stay strict with the program. I can not wait until I complete my 1st 5K!

KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
