Lots of port pain after fill

i had my second fill today and by the time I got home I felt like someone kicked me in the port area. Very sore and I felt a bit awful. Wonder of this is normal after fills?? I know she had to dig a good bit for it and my needle prick is more of a longer scratch kind of thing. Can heat or cold help?? It hurts! Just. Wonder
