I looked at what I weighed last year, and I only lost 40 pounds over the course of a year. I tell myself that is better than gaining, and with everything that I went through last year with all of the surgeries and complications that arose from them, I'm trying to be satisfied that I lost weight and didn't gain 1 single pound.

I weigh less now than I did when I graduated high school 20 years ago, and that makes me feel wonderful. One of these days soon, I will take a picture of what I look like now. I can finally after nearly 105 lbs lost tell a difference. I guess it helps to wear clothes that fit (that I get to buy in regular stores and don't have to buy plus sizes any more.)

I always figured that after a year I would be at my goal weight, but I'm not. I won't even be there at my 2 year mark, but I'm okay with that. I know that as long as that scale moves down (no matter how slowly) that eventually I will be where I want to be.

Is anyone having left shoulder pain while they eat? I don't know if its linked or not, but I find that at certain times when I'm eating, I start that pain in my left shoulder blade and it takes some time to go away. Anyone else?

I do at times, but mine is due to reflux. I'm having terrible reflux right now to the point it is making me throw up. I have to call my surgeon.

All of a sudden the weight is melting off again. For the first time EVER, I weigh less than my husband does. I am close to my pre-pregnancy weight of my first child which is the smallest I've been since I was 13.

So I don't know if people still check in here on this thread anymore but Im going to post what is going on with me anyways. Last November I was told my pouch was stretched. I never followed back up and went through cycles of not having any issues then would have vomiting and horrible reflux. I've lost probably 7 lbs since November. This past Wednesday I was drinking my Protein Shakes and had HORRIBLE pain in the center of my chest with each drink. Went to my doctor today and was told I have a pretty severe band slip which will require surgery to fix. I have had nothing but problems with this band lately that Im at the point of researching the vertical sleeve. If Im going to have to have surgery anyways then why not check this out? UGH. I've been reading posts over at vertical sleeve talk and there are a lot of bandsters that had theirs removed and went to the sleeve and are extremely happy. So Im not sure what to do yet. :(

((HUGS)) Amber. A friend of mine has the vertical sleeve. She said it works as long as you don't overeat. She has stretched hers from overeating and gained back about 20 pounds. I will say though, if anything ever happens to my band I will try the sleeve next.

Sorry to hear you are having problems Amber. Does your doctor suggest the veritcal sleeve or fixing the band? I have had some problems with the band also...acid reflux is the number one problem but that has gotten better thank goodness. I have gained 5 pounds back since nov when the doc unfilled me to help with the acid reflux and I have been going up and down. I see the doc again in May and will talk to him about another little fill.

Amber I hope everything works out for you. Good luck and take care.

I have an appt next Wednesday April 4th with the new doctor. They did call my ins and verified that I have coverage for ANY WL surgery so now we just need to get approval from insurance for the sleeve.

I ended up in the ER yesterday. Ahh, you have to love how your band goes from zero to sixty in 2.2 seconds. I knew my band was tight, and I knew it needed to have some Fluid come out. I was still able to drink, and I was down to eating one meal a day. I just really didn't have the money to go and pay for it to be done. Other things came up. Fast forward to Saturday evening, and I started throwing up because of the acid. This lasted for 2 hours. I finally fell asleep about 2. I woke up yesterday around noon, and my limbs felt like dead weight. I could barely move them, and I was extremely dizzy and queasy. My chest hurt right in the middle, and I tingled all over. My husband took me to the nearest ER where thankfully it was just severe dehydration. I couldn't even keep Water down. Everything was getting stuck in the band. They sent me home (thankfully didn't touch my band. I was worried they would take all of the fluid out of it.) I go to see my surgeon today at 115. I've been able to sip down very slowly 2 full glasses of water today which I wasn't able to do yesterday at all. Now, I just hope that everything looks okay under the fluro when he goes to look at my band.

Hi guys. It has been a while since i have checked in. My weight loss has been very slow. I tend to loose 3 kilo then put 2 back on then stay steady for a while. I have 9.5 mls in my band now and for the first time was able to have my fill done in the doctors rooms instead of in the Xray department so that should be easier from now on. My band is tight in the morning but fine by lunch time. I have to drink slower than i was and i definitely cant drink with my meals anymore. I am hoping my weight will start to drop a bit quicker again now. Doctor wants me to loose 20 more kilo but is happy for it to take another 18months or so. It would be nice to loose more weight but if i don't i am still happy because i feel as if i have my life back. I no longer get back pain, i can choose what clothes to buy instead of what will fit, people don't stare at me with disgust any more, i don't worry if i am going to fit when i go to the theatre or catch a plane and so much more. I love my band and i owe my life to it.

Hey all.. its been forever and a day since i was on here... as like some of you I have been having problems with my band as well I get stuck 3-4 times a day and have to throw up just as many times if I try to eat pretty much anything I havent had a fill in over a year so I really dont know what's up I'm not in pain and I can still eat soft foods so I have made alot of Soup with mega Protein in it so I can eat... LOL I didnt know this lap band was gonna cause all these problems granted I never would have lost 75lbs with out it but i really dislike not being able to eat and having to throw up so much...

I went on a 10 day juice fast about 3 months ago and it really helped detox my body and jump start my weight loss again. it may be time for another go round...

good luck everyone keep on keeping on....

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
