It's definitely difficult, ms_mention...~ I find I want a taste of everything! LOL~ I'm trucking along...... not really looking forward to the weekend. Much harder to stay on track when not as busy! Ah well.....

How's everyone?

Hi guys,

I've been MIA for a little while. We started pre-planning on Monday. I have had about 5 hours total Monday-Thursday to work on setting up my room. All of our other time has been filled up with meetings! I found myself working straight through lunch every day this week! I found out that I will have 11 students this year and still only one para :). Pray for me! This will be a challenge. I'm doing my best to set my the zone plan, student picture schedules, and lesson plans for the month of August before I leave.

Besides skipping lunch, my pre-op plan has been going pretty well. I have been sticking to the plan with the exception of a bowl of raisin bran and a greek yogurt a day. I'm gonna cut that out starting now. :)

But, on a good note. I know that this last week and a half will fly by since I will be busy at work. I am getting more and more excited every day!

Good luck to you all.

OMG is right! LOL~ crazy right?!? How are you doing??? My room is almost finished. :)

Arisa- how are you?? 11 kiddo's and one para?? Wow! Prayers for you. I will have 8 and 2 paras. I'm working hard on my room too. 2 1/2 more days!! Yikes!

Sorry for the delay, been on vacation! My liquid drinks included: coffee, water, broth, protein drinks thinned down(I used slim fast low carb), I bought the small bottles of sf-cranbrerry juice(perfect size), small v8 ,sports drinks, sf jello cups, skim milk, tea. I kept these on my desk at work and sipped on something all day.

When I moved on to pureed, I tried using small jars of baby food but I didn't like it so I made my own. Believe me, just puree any protein or vegs you are cooking up for dinner for your family. I put my meat in the Magic Bullet and added a little broth & seansonings and it turned out fine.same with the vegies. You will only be eating a couple tablespoons to a 1/4cup at a time at first so you dont need to make a bunch!

My doctor had me keep a diary from day one to monitor my intake of everything. I looked back and for the first two months I am amazed at how little I took in!! I wasn't hungry though!

Good Luck!!!

Thankfully my room is done, at least the big stuff and decorating! Went in to see the surgeon today-Dr. Marsden--really down-to-earth and matter of fact. Really put me at ease! He said I could have a "last supper". Not sure what I want, not really craving anything, that's a good start, huh? His main instruction was nothing after midnight, not even Clear liquids.

Michelle, One More Day! Woohoo!

I made some curtains today and go them hung, and put up my word wall--i am calling my room DONE! It looks awesome.

I was told the same thing re:nothing after midnight... But no last meal! LOL- I want to know what you decide on! :)

I have to be there at 7:30 in the morning!! Wow!

Ah..... Michelle, I have read all the encouraging notes from everyone here. I hope you the best today. Enjoy your week-end with your band. I am very jealous!!! I have not been banded yet. I am just starting out. Looks like we have the same amout to lose! It will def be a journey. Good Luck! (Oh, I visited San Antonio this past spring! I LOVED it. We will go back soon, I want to see the country parts. I only got to visit the River Walk. It was beautiful!) Keep in touch!

How r u Janelle??? I'm banded! Craziness!!

I went in at about 9:15 a.m.... Was in recovery by about 10.... And got home close to 11:45 a.m. :) I'll write more later--about to get up for a walk then rest some more. So far so good!!!

Milchelle, How are you today?? Remember if you have that crazy gas pain in the shoulder, get up and walk!!! I also took gas x (I took the walgreen brand) that seemed to help, not really sure if it was that or walking!. It took me a few days to get rid of it, but I had a past surgery and had the same gas problem. Your recovery time was very much the same as mine. In & out!! To answer your question on weight loss, I am 5'3 & I have lost 30lbs. I started at 185 and now I am at 155. My goal is another 25-30 lbs I have been banded for a year. I wasn't too much over weight to begin with, so I am a "SLOW LOSER" I was a size 12 to begin.I tried losing the weight for a long time trying everything you can imagine. Nothing worked. This did. Best thing I have ever done!!. Really. There are days when I struggle and say what have I done, but after I get over feeling sorry for myself, I know I made the BEST decision for myself. After you have the band for about two months you really get into a routine. I cannot eat bread, that was VERY hard to get over. So I am still learning to either put it (whatever it is) on a plate or a big leaf of lettuce and make a wrap! Everyone is different though. Some people struggle with bread and some meats. I do. I just have to remember to cut it as if a baby with a few teeth were going to eat it!!! VERY,VERY small pieces. and it must be juicy meat too. I can't digest hard dry meats. I will start to slime if I do, they have a very hard time going down! Well I hope everything is healing well and your strength is starting to return. Rest as much as you can this weekend and I hope you are well enough to return to work on Monday!! Best of Luck to you!!:)
