Any May 2011 Banders?
Everything is ready! Insurance ect. I had a little set back two things that couldn't be helped. First I had a week stay in the hospital (everything was okay) I did have my Gall Bladder removed. The second thing is that the Bariatric program is moving to another hospital. That was the best news because it so happens the hospital is a lot closer. So I'm waiting for my next appointment and then the two week liquid diet. Oh, the surgeon for the gall bladder is the same one doing the lap-band. Hummmm!!!!! May will be the month for sure!!!

Hello again
Hello, I haven't had the surgery yet. I have been on this lapband talk since the summer. I went to the doctor in October, went and did all the programs for him have had my insurace just this very week approve the band. So exciting! Just about 3 weeks ago I had my Gall Bladder taken out so there is some healing time and the Surgeons practice is moving to another hospital here in my own town. The other hospital was also close, this one is just a mile away. Soooo, I think it will happen in May or early June. I don't have a time frame yet. Wendy!

List the BENEFITS of low-carbing PLEASE
Good for you Purple Flower!!!! I love low carb eating. It's sort of a challenge. The weight comes off without hardly trying. I believe that there are so many foods I had thought they were forbidden. When suprise!! No!!!! I can have that? Sweet!!!! The bread is hard too, but I have had altenative choices like sugar free bread and alwas a low-carb tortillas ect. It's very interesting how it all come into play. Keep up the good work. I also have a co-worker/neighbor who was going "Zero" carbs. I told her not to do that because if you do that your body just wants it even more but incorporate at least the <100 grams. Yeah, that didn't last long for her to quit her diet. Also what was interesting was the Sugar Free candy and ice cream. It looks like carbs but the Alcohol sugar take that away and you go with the net carbs. How interesting is that? Good Luck!!!!

Life after goal weight.
Wow, You have had it delt to you bad. I wish you and your baby girl all the best. I can't even imagine it. It must feel like some sort of bad dream. What a little sweetheart and trooper she is. Hugs and kisses to her. Glad the docs are taking care of her. I can't forget about the Lord either, he was watching her and making sure you got home just in time. A bunch of prayers coming your way. God bless.

List the BENEFITS of low-carbing PLEASE
I like this idea of low carb eating. I am eating less than 100 carbs, sometimes i think i don't even eat 20 per day. My husband was diagnosed with diabetes. So this is good for him also. He isn't as over-weight as I am, but he could stand to lose a few pounds here and there. I am not banded yet but am waiting out the 6 months for insurance puposes. My 2nd appointment to the doctor after eating low carbs was 10 lbs gone. It was easy too. I passed up my birthday cake and Halloween. How great is that. Making the right choices when going out to eat are VERY easy also. Who knows after the both of us lose what we need to, there may be no more meds to take. That is our goal for our retirement. We are a young mid to early 50's group and to retire early is an option my husband wants to do. He has macular degeneration and wants to see everything now. So we will be off camping the USA, hopefully soon.

Expectations
I guess I will Third it. LOL! Yeah, a lot of truth to what Paul is saying. But come on, this is how it is. I think everyone should read this and give it some good thought. Yeah I still want the band but six months of dieting will be for me right now. I have not changed my mind. :smile2:

Expectations
Yes, Where is Paul? How is Paul Doing? The 6 months of being on a diet thu the lapband doctors is okay. I really don't mind. I suppose they have to really see if I could lose weight. I will do my best. It's just a lot of yo-yoing my whole life. I really needed the band to be my buddy. I guess it will have to be the clinic for a while. Oh, well. I will let you know how that goes.

COSTCO Rocks!!!
Their food is awesome! Is there much sugar in the prepared food? I haven't checked it out. I will be that way on Sunday. Yes i would like to pick up some Protein Shakes too. Great to know! What's for breakfast? Did you find anything?

Expectations
Bumping this up too! I am thinking about a band and Paul has not changed my mind. I have been listening to everyones advice and I know there isn't a guarantee. I guess I'm just looking for some added strength while dieting and the constant feeling of being on a diet will help. I have dieted and have lost 100 plus pound so I know it's acheavable. It's just that I had more time to deal with a diet and a diet buddy back then, which I don't have anymore. If I could bring her back to Indiana to stay I would. She now live in Texas and is doing just as well as I am. NOT!!!! I have submitted my paperwork for the Lapband. I have to see a weightloss Doctor for six months. Okay, I can play their game.

Gave pre0op a try with terrible result
Try sipping some water or chewing sugar fee gum. You might have had a low sugar reaction. I get sweaty and shakey and want to vomit. Good luck!

Available Lap Band Buddy / Mentor Looking For New Friends
Miss Rea, I went to my seminar and they told me I would have no weight restriction on picking anything up. I hope he understood me because I also take my granddaughter to daycare and have to put her in a carseat. I drive a big pick-up and I will have to at least lift her into the truck. I was thinking I will take my daughter with me for awhile but now she is talking about the Navy (Military) sooooo, IDK. I will have my granddaughter for at least a few months alone then. OMG!! Let me know please everyone what your Dr said. Thanks, Wendy

Available Lap Band Buddy / Mentor Looking For New Friends
Hi Tasha! We are in the same time frame I think. You can talk to me I've met some really nice people on the LBT. It is a process let me tell you, it does not go fast either. My seminar was the 18th of August then I have to go to a Group meeting. Then my paper work will be ready to be submitted. I also have to write down what I eat everyday for a week. I guess that's to help me get ready for writing things. The group meeting is next Tuesday. Please keep in touch or add me as a friend. Good luck sweetie! Wendy

Looking for September 2010 Bandsters
Okay, I went to the seminar last night with my husband. Yeah, it was okay. I learned most of my stuff from here. I have to go to a meeting that only happens once a month so that will be on my record, then the Drs visit on the first. Wow, I feel like I'm jumping thru hoops. Plus I didn't know there would be extra cost besides the procedure. A total of about 450 sum odd dollars. !!!! Not to even mention my $1000.00 deductable. So I look at it this way, if I make it to the once a month meeting, I stand a chance of getting this sooner. Then I win the prize, right?

Yeah!!! Tracy, I am so proud of you!! That is awesome!!! I love the way you will give yourself a gift. I may try that in mini goals. My sister-in-law wants to do a hawaii cruise when I reach my goal. The mini treats for fifty, seventy-five ect are exactly what I need. Hummm, now to see what I really want besides weight loss. :cursing:

Available Lap Band Buddy / Mentor Looking For New Friends
Oh thank goodness, I thought I was just being a pig! LOL! At work I am a differant person. I do not eat anything there. I usually have coffee then I have flavored water. I don't know if they will be able to notice when I do get banded. I am lucky enough I live close to travel home for lunch. This should be a snap right? At home I eat mostly healthy enough stuff. I think probably too much carbs. Well the seminar is getting close and hopfully that will get the ball rolling. I just want to be on the pre-op diet and almost there! Wendy Ann
