  2. Awesome Jill, you look great and I bet you feel so much better. I have to say you look younger too. How inspiring also. I can't wait to be banded now. Soon, probably in May. Thanks for the before and after pictures.
  3. Everything is ready! Insurance ect. I had a little set back two things that couldn't be helped. First I had a week stay in the hospital (everything was okay) I did have my Gall Bladder removed. The second thing is that the Bariatric program is moving to another hospital. That was the best news because it so happens the hospital is a lot closer. So I'm waiting for my next appointment and then the two week liquid diet. Oh, the surgeon for the gall bladder is the same one doing the lap-band. Hummmm!!!!! May will be the month for sure!!!
  4. Hello, I haven't had the surgery yet. I have been on this lapband talk since the summer. I went to the doctor in October, went and did all the programs for him have had my insurace just this very week approve the band. So exciting! Just about 3 weeks ago I had my Gall Bladder taken out so there is some healing time and the Surgeons practice is moving to another hospital here in my own town. The other hospital was also close, this one is just a mile away. Soooo, I think it will happen in May or early June. I don't have a time frame yet. Wendy!
  5. TerriLynn, Hello! Yes I believe we do have a harder time losing. I'm thinking more on the lines of not getting enough excercise. Anywho, You my friend have been through a lot and I think you are awesome. Keep up the good work!!!! Keep in touch more often! Wendy Ann
  6. Costco sells a high potein drink in chocolate. Not bad for 30 grams. Also try some Greek yogurt, high in protein also!!!!!
  7. Hope to have a nice story to tell like you. I will be banded coming up in May!!!! Help me keep my chin up!!!
  8. Good for you Purple Flower!!!! I love low carb eating. It's sort of a challenge. The weight comes off without hardly trying. I believe that there are so many foods I had thought they were forbidden. When suprise!! No!!!! I can have that? Sweet!!!! The bread is hard too, but I have had altenative choices like sugar free bread and alwas a low-carb tortillas ect. It's very interesting how it all come into play. Keep up the good work. I also have a co-worker/neighbor who was going "Zero" carbs. I told her not to do that because if you do that your body just wants it even more but incorporate at least the <100 grams. Yeah, that didn't last long for her to quit her diet. Also what was interesting was the Sugar Free candy and ice cream. It looks like carbs but the Alcohol sugar take that away and you go with the net carbs. How interesting is that? Good Luck!!!!
  9. Has anyone seen "Cola" flavored water? I could do that.
  10. Hello all, I have still been going to my lapband Dr. In the last month I got felling sick enough to go into the hospital. Well, I was having heart palpitations and since this was a family trait, they stuck me in there for almost one week. I am now with out a gallbladder, LOL. The stone was the size of a golf ball. So surgery through the belly button sounds like it might hurt right now. I was approved for my surgery at one hospital and now the practice is moving to another hospital actually closer to me. So they have to re-submit it to the insurace company. The surgeon who took out the gall bladder is the one doing the lapband. Just the way I planned it!!! At least he knows how my liver looks now. LOL. So just to let you all know the surgery will be in May sometime. I'm getting a lot excited!!!!! I'm also trying to get use to the new format. I'll just keep coming on her for the next few days maybe if i write stuff it will sink in. Keep on losing!!!! Wendy Ann
  11. Hi Shannon Marie. I hope you are still going thru this, I have been going since August to the seminar and then the other hoops they make you go thru. I am on my third visit to the diet Dr. tomorrow. so three more visits which include the physic visit nutionist then the Dr Stanish. So hopefully I can get this done this spring. Let me know how far you are into it. Thanks, Wendy Ann from Hobart.
  12. Ya know, that's what I thought. I just thought it would be better for the long haul. I would never dream about losing 52 lbs before wls. Awesome. Thank you for all your advice I will call them Friday and let you know. Wendy
  13. Since I'm into my second month of dieting for the insurance purposes. (6 months) I hear now from a friend if I lose too much weight maybe the insurace wouldn't cover the lap-band. Has anyone ever heard of this? I need it to keep me on the straight and narrow. Any advice out there? If I can lose then I should, why beat around the bush. I may need it for weak times. Thanks
  14. Wow, You have had it delt to you bad. I wish you and your baby girl all the best. I can't even imagine it. It must feel like some sort of bad dream. What a little sweetheart and trooper she is. Hugs and kisses to her. Glad the docs are taking care of her. I can't forget about the Lord either, he was watching her and making sure you got home just in time. A bunch of prayers coming your way. God bless.
  15. Aww, Bunny7. I love an ocassional soda. Infact I'm having one now. I will have to flatten all my soda in a few months. LOL!!!! Hubby made me a diet Pepsi and Tortuga rum Yummy!!!!!
  16. Hi all, you are such and inspiration! I am doing the 6 months before being banded, for insurance purposes. The 2nd dr visit I lost 10 lbs. I am on my way with a goal by christmas of 25 lbs gone. Found out last week my hubby for the past 34 years is now a diabetic. Guess what? I have him on my low carb diet. He isn't as strict as I am. He is watching his sugar and has been good so far. We both are mid to early 50's. He can and will retire early. He also has been diagnosed with Macular Degeneration. He wants to see the country while he can. We want to be healthy and live longer so looks like a lifestyle change for both of us. We can do it together. I should be banded in March sometime. I have a few more appointments to keep then we will be more ready for banding to happen! I love all your stories and get so charged up with every reading. Thank you all!
  17. I like this idea of low carb eating. I am eating less than 100 carbs, sometimes i think i don't even eat 20 per day. My husband was diagnosed with diabetes. So this is good for him also. He isn't as over-weight as I am, but he could stand to lose a few pounds here and there. I am not banded yet but am waiting out the 6 months for insurance puposes. My 2nd appointment to the doctor after eating low carbs was 10 lbs gone. It was easy too. I passed up my birthday cake and Halloween. How great is that. Making the right choices when going out to eat are VERY easy also. Who knows after the both of us lose what we need to, there may be no more meds to take. That is our goal for our retirement. We are a young mid to early 50's group and to retire early is an option my husband wants to do. He has macular degeneration and wants to see everything now. So we will be off camping the USA, hopefully soon.
  18. Good luck, you sound like you were ready to take this thing on. Good luck during the holidays and keep thinking about that band. Enjoy your new body!!!
  19. I guess I will Third it. LOL! Yeah, a lot of truth to what Paul is saying. But come on, this is how it is. I think everyone should read this and give it some good thought. Yeah I still want the band but six months of dieting will be for me right now. I have not changed my mind. :smile2:
  20. Yes, Where is Paul? How is Paul Doing? The 6 months of being on a diet thu the lapband doctors is okay. I really don't mind. I suppose they have to really see if I could lose weight. I will do my best. It's just a lot of yo-yoing my whole life. I really needed the band to be my buddy. I guess it will have to be the clinic for a while. Oh, well. I will let you know how that goes.
  21. Their food is awesome! Is there much sugar in the prepared food? I haven't checked it out. I will be that way on Sunday. Yes i would like to pick up some Protein Shakes too. Great to know! What's for breakfast? Did you find anything?
  22. Bumping this up too! I am thinking about a band and Paul has not changed my mind. I have been listening to everyones advice and I know there isn't a guarantee. I guess I'm just looking for some added strength while dieting and the constant feeling of being on a diet will help. I have dieted and have lost 100 plus pound so I know it's acheavable. It's just that I had more time to deal with a diet and a diet buddy back then, which I don't have anymore. If I could bring her back to Indiana to stay I would. She now live in Texas and is doing just as well as I am. NOT!!!! I have submitted my paperwork for the Lapband. I have to see a weightloss Doctor for six months. Okay, I can play their game.
  23. Try sipping some water or chewing sugar fee gum. You might have had a low sugar reaction. I get sweaty and shakey and want to vomit. Good luck!
  24. So glad you are okay. I have been worried for you. It sounded life threating. So glad it wasn't.
