My surgery date is tomorrow July 21st! Would love to connect with others banded at same time to track the journey, etc. I'm in San Diego. The pre surgery diet of Clear Liquids only for five days has been hard, but I'm doing it! Thank goodness for my Premier Nutrition Protein Shakes, the only kind I like.

I'm scheduled for 7/23 am. I was on the 2 week Protein shake diet for a BMI of 40. Its so hard for 2wks. I've been soo hungry (stomach growling)-can't wait for that feeling to go away. I've lost about 10 pounds and many people say "why have surgery if this is working". I just explain that it would be the same old routine of loss and gain.

However now I'm getting really nervous but still think its a good decision. I've just never been to sleep for surgery before and that's my real concern. What are all of you getting for pain med after the surgery?

My office gave me a script for Lortab liquid but Lortab makes me sick and vomit (not good). They said they'd give me whatever I'd like but I don't know what to ask for.

I'm also traveling for surgery. We (dh and my two kids) We'll be staying for a couple of days before driving home three hours away. Anyone else traveling for surgery?

Yes I'm traveling 4 hours from home. Wanted a Doctor who has a lot of experience with lap bands. I got the same perscription for pain meds. as you Lortab & Zofran for nausea. Good Luck!

Hi everyone. I am scheduled for July 26th, hope it's okay to join your group. I found out July 19th of my insurance approval, and all of the sudden a little panic has swept over me. I am very excited, but am having some feelings of guilt for doing this for some reason. Has anyone else experienced that? I have only told one person, because I don't want to have to do any explaining or justification before it is done. Has anyone handled it this way or are you all pretty open with everyone? I am looking forward to having this support group for the journey we are all about to experience...

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
