Recommended Posts

I am feeling very mad and sad and I don't know. Its going to be a year at the end of july and i've only lost a good 30lbs.. I do not understand why! i've been getting fills i'm able to eat a bit this past month then a week i can get down food better and able to eat more. I see my dr. next week and I know he is gonna be upset that i'm not losing like i should.

I don't know what i'm doing wrong! any one else not losing?? I wanna cry... i spend all this money for the band and i feel hardly any restrition.

Thanks

I've just read 3 or 4 of your posts and I can tell you without a doubt what the main problem is. It's your attitude. You have to be more positive and develop a can-do attitude. For starters, stop comparing yourself to others and STOP using the word "only!"

You weigh an amazing 30 pounds less than you did 11 months ago. You should be proud!

  • Are you eating 3 meals a day?
  • Are you snacking between meals?
  • Are you drinking calories?
  • Are you drinking with meals?
  • Are you logging everything you eat or drink?
  • Are you exercising regularly?
  • Are you consuming at least 50 grams of Protein a day?
  • Are you drinking at least 64 ounces of Water daily?

These are questions you have to ask yourself and if you don't like the answers; start fixing them one at a time and at your own pace.

And stop using the word "ONLY" in the context of weight loss!!

I totally agree with btrieger...a positive attitude can take you to amazing places!! Our motto in our house now is "You can do it!" It is not always easy believe me but repeating that phrase gets me thru things I never thought I would! Also, answering the questions that btrieger listed would help as well. If you want daily motivating you can PM me and we can chat daily..I am usually online every day or I at least check my email. I wish you the very best!!

Hi, FELKATZ I felt like you felt a couple of months ago.. My year was in April and I said the same thing you said I only lost 40lbs.. I said that to the girl in the dr office and she got all on me. And I do agree with btriger, you have to stay positive.. I went last week for a fill, but I really didn't need one.. I asked my self some of those same questions and I didn't like the answer to them.. since then I have started back exercising I went to the gym 3 times this week and I feel good.. I've had to do that for me, I told the kids and the husband I'm going to the gym from this time to that.. I take care of everything else but I said I have to do this for me. I know you can do it, and I'm trying to drink a lot more Water and cut back on some of my sugar (which I love) Hang in there be encouraged... I had been looking at other people also and comparring my self to the... but all of us are different our bodies are different.. Don't give up you'll get through this.. I love this band... It had changed my life a lot.

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
