Hi everyone. I am getting so darn antzy. I have seen one surgeon so far & I see one in Tustin tomorrow. I then have one more interview set up at UCI a week from Thur. I want to get this show on the road & get this over with.... I keep wondering whats behind door number 2, I am talking about the jacked up fees. I had to cancel out on Dr. Oliak since my out of pocket was going to be $5500 & my insurance covers everything! I find that I am eating everything in sight, I cant get full enough... I dont know why I am doing this. I just want to get on with it.... I am also having a difficult time researching the OBand surgery center in Tustin. I cant find anything on it.

Have you heard of the N.E.W. program in Newport Beach? I too have met with a few surgeons. THe first being the 1-800-Get-thin which i deceided against! I also looked into the Obesity Center at Chapman hospital. Good luck to you. It seems to be a never ending journey but hopefully we will both get there!!

No I have not heard of the NEW program. I did really like the facility in Tustin called the 0Band center. I have elected to go there, no hidden fees so far. Now we will wait & see when my insurance gives the final ok, Crossing my fingers....

Hi everyone, I've been banded since 9/09 and have lost 75lbs so far. I live in Laguna Niguel. I'd love to answer any questions anyone may have regarding the lapband. XOXO

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
