Shrinking violets- part 6!!!

Recommended Posts

The rain is gone, and now it is beautiful crisp Fall weather! Love it!

DS's soccer team had another shut-out last night -- yay!

DD begins the Fall/Winter horse jumper show series @ the end of the month! It runs Oct - Feb. She's also auditioning for "Seussical the Musical" this month, w/the show performed in April.

I'm still trying to catch up (when will I learn that I will *never* catch up?!) w/laundry & the house... ah well, I look at it as job security! :(

A week ago today I was a "chubby" girl in a tiara @ the casino... today I'm still chubby, but no tiara & no casino. Maybe I'll put on the tiara just for the heck of it! :smile2:

Everyone enjoy this weekend!

Morning girls~

It is a gorgeous morning here. It was raining earlier, and the clouds are making the sunrise spectacular! We have the windows open and enjoying the smell of rain! Another little storm will roll in later too!

Susanne is going to pick up her mom. We have the couch repair guy coming this am, then a quick trip to the grocery store...and then I am free all day! I have 3 episodes of Mad Men to watch (OMG, THAT IS MY HAPPY PLACE FOR REAL).

I am soooo loving this book, Freedom. REALLY GOOD, and I guess it is an Oprah book. I have it on the kindle, and am enjoying the text to speech option on this one. Haven't used that in a long time, but sometimes it is nice to chillax and listen to a story. I will have the windows open and will be reading (listening) to my book this afternoon. Doesn't that sound delicious?

Michelle, I'd love to see Seussical the Musical! How fun!

Yes, a week ago we were only chubby girls...I think you should rock the tiara just for the heck of it!

Make it a great day girls! Miss you!

Good evening.

Long day, then work again tomorrow. Off Monday then start all over again.

Good morning, Violets..

Nope, no stinging knee, Janie. We were in the hot tub last night and the knee got bent, but it felt fine, thank goodness. Haven't had any percocet in 2 days now.

I'm up early to get dressed for church. I have a solo to sing this morning. Then I have a singing rehearsal from 4-6 this afternoon, then headed to our annual Peace concert during which I have a solo, am singing two pieces with our New Day Singers group and 2 pieces with our Wind Song flute quartet. After that, I'm going to hit the hot tub, get my nammies on and watch Desperate Housewives!!

Everyone have a great day!

Foulness...Lets just say I am not my usual, things really don't bother me that much, kind of gal. I hate that I have to work two jobs, I hate that my health insurance is $669 a month, for a $2,500 deductible, I hate that I am single, I hate that I basically have no life. I could go on and on, but I won't, maybe I need to stop taking that bitter pill in the morning!?!

OOOO that kind of foulness. I hear things may change for you in the next three years. Perhaps you can use the three years to work on some of the "stuff" so that when YOU KNOW WHAT HAPPENS, you'll be ready:tt1::):tt1:!

Good Monday Morn!

I'm working this morn, then meeting a friend for coffee & perhaps lunch @ the Mediterranean Grill. mmmmm. Then I pick up dd @ school & take her to the barn to ride, then switch kids & take ds to soccer practice, followed by a team "pasta night" that the parents are hosting. I made a big ol' honkin' tray of "Firehouse Pasta" (penne, meatballs, marinara all mixed together, with a layer of ricotta/moz/parm/seasonings in the middle... sort of a penne/meatball lasagna) and a Mississippi Mud Cake -- figure that'll fill them up!

Everyone make it a good day!

Good morning, Violets..

Michelle.. your post does not help me!!:) Today is my "back to being a bandster" day. I've gained 9# since the unfill and need to get my head back in the game. The Bobster and I were going to do liquids only for a couple of days, but that's not going to happen, so we are just going to follow the rules... Portion Control, no junk food... all the things that worked before and will again. You all know the story by heart, right!!?? Now that the knee is much better, there is no excuse to feel sorry for myself and allow myself to have whatever I want to eat.

Today is hospital shift, then taking the dogs to the groomer and then Grady comes over tonight while Kris goes to Zumba. Joe and family are planning on heading back here this week and should be here before the weekend. It's a happy/sad thing. I wanted them to do well out there, but will be glad to have them home again.

Off to have some tuna/soy nuts/raisins for Breakfast. Back to the routine!!

Everyone make it a great day..

Good morning.

Woke up with a cold today. Yuck! Why on my only day off???

I was supposed to go look at cars today, but Charlie didn't call me, and I really don't feel like going anyways.

I have an investment club meeting tonight. Have lots of homework for that one.

Everyone sounds busy and happy!!

Pics of Carson on Facebook are cute!!!!

I am sorry if I am being debbie downer right now. Just going through a hard time. I am just going to let this apology speak and stand for itself, and don't say I don't need to apologize because I really feel the need.

Hey girls~

I don't think I checked in today. Had a good day. I had an eye appointment, but when I got there (all the way in DHS) the office was closed. I came home and booked an apt w/ my doc I've had for 20 years.

I have to go to a class tonight for church. That superduper sucks because it cuts into my bed time. I will be glad when it is over tonight. I am really excited to be joining this church...and feel this is a right fit for me.

Busy busy week, and I can't squeeze in any exercise. I really hate it, because I feel soo sluggish when I don't exercise. Working out keeps me sane...ut oh:blush::unsure:

((Jane))

Hope all is well w/ you all!

Good evening, Violets..

Had a good day today. Did my hospital shift, went with Bob to his dr. appt. , took a little nap and then babysat Grady for a couple of hours. He's so darn cute!! He kept grabbing my fingers to lead me to the door so we could go outside.

We're watching an episode of Bones on Netflix..almost done with season 3 now. Hot tubbing tonight. It was 29 degrees this morning... ice on the windshield and frost on the ground. brrrrrrrrrr..

(((Janie)))

Everyone have a good evening! sleep well.

Good morning, Violets..

Up early today to get ready to go to the dentist for my teeth cleaning. Unfortunately with my knee replacement I now have to take antibiotics before I have it done. I used to have to take them for my heart problem, but then docs decided that wasn't necessary. So now I'm back to having to take 4 pills an hour before the appointment. That plus the extra time at airport security are the two new joys of having a new knee. But... the knee is working fine and I'm not complaining....... much.

After the dentist I don't have anything on the agenda except for singing rehearsal tonight.

We are 10 degrees warmer this morning than yesterday with a scorching 37 degrees! No ice to melt off the windshield today.

Joe and family are packing up and will be starting back tomorrow. They should be here by Friday, but we are leaving early Friday morning to go to a wedding in Chicago so I won't see them until we get back on Sunday evening. Can't wait for an Ethan hug!! Hope he remembers me!

Off to have some tuna for breakfast and then get ready to slug down 4 pills.

Everyone make it a great day!!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
