So just like every year, it's about that time to go through my closet to exchange the winter/fall clothes for the spring/summer ones. Now, the winter/fall to spring/summer exchange is always the harder change as I put away the clothes that cover me up more, for some clingy, non-flattering clothes:crying: UGHH I hate it....USUALLY!

Well, something just occurred to me. The thought that the winter/fall clothes that I just finished washing and folding, and now placing into storage containers, may never see the light of day again!!! These may all be too big by the time my spring/summer to winter/fall exchange happens! So cardigan by cardigan, blazer by blazer, I felt like I was saying 'good-bye' to the overweight, unhealthy me, and making room for the healthy, 'regular' weight me! This thought turned a usual dreadful task into something uplifting!

Anyways just wanted to share, and wondered if any of you have experienced something similar!?

What a great revelation!!

I had my surgery back at the end of February. I've already got a pile of clothes that I was wearing this winter that are ready for Goodwill!

So, like you, I'm hoping to be shopping for new fall clothes next year, and again next spring.

It just feels good!

How awesome is that?

Funny story to share: It was like 70 degrees on Sunday, so I grabbed a pair of bermuda shorts--they went on really easy, but I didn't pay much attention to them. They kind of kept stretching out and I just kept hiking them up, later in the day I jumped off the sofa to grab the phone and down went my pants...too funny! Of course I'm glad I was home and no one else was visiting at the time, but man did my DH laugh. I checked the tag...24. Went shopping right after bought a very tight 14...I figure when short season really kicks in in July they will be just right.

And I suggest to all of the ladies who are changing out winter into summer, go ahead and GIVE THEM AWAY! If you keep them, it will just be a reminder of the way you use to be, or are right now. You will need the room for the new clothes you will be buying soon anyway!

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
