Dr. Alex Esquivel - Dr. Esquivel and True Results are top notch

Recommended Posts

I was banded by Dr Esquivel on Tuesday, Oct 18, 2011. I met him 2 weeks before and I felt that he was very informative to any questions. When he came in to talk to my husband and I, he was very intune to my other health insues before surgery. I have not had any problems so far and it has been 6 days since surgery. I had great nurses at St Davids South, in Austin Texas, they were very caring to anything I needed. I had to stay overnight because of insurance policy, but I felt that it was ok because it gave me time to adjust to moving around with the incisions and I got the rest I needed before going home. True Results in Austin has been very nice to me and my mentor Paul has kept me very informed to anything that I needed to know. So far since I started with True Results 6months ago I have lost a total of 23 pounds with 6 of those being since surgery 6 days ago.

If you just walk and try to stay as active as you can after surgery, with rest in between doing things. I feel that this has been the best joice that I have made.

Thanks to my support my husband, I could not do this without his support and help.

Good luck to everyone else who is having Dr Esquivel doing there surgery.

I'm am scheduled for surgery with Dr Esquivel on feb 24, actually me and my mm are going together, Avignon surgery back to back. We're out of Austin but driving to San Antonio for surgery at turning point center....

The experience has been great so far, love the staff at Austin office and paul has been great. Had an EGD with Esquivel 2 weeks ago and found him calming, caring, and reassuring.

I started with True Results Austin in Oct 2012. They guided me throught the hoop jumping to get insurance approval. My last consultation was on Jan 14, I got my approval letter Jan 22, and was banded on Feb 21.

Dr. Esquivel was great. Seems to be a sharp guy. Everyone at St. David's South was awesome. I was expecting a lot of hurry up and wait, this was not the case. Checked in about 815a, Registration done by 845. I was in a gown by 915 and knocked out before 10am. Home by 3pm.

You are in good hands. Dr Esquivel is great and I can't say enough about Paul and True Results. Love them.

I strongly recommend coming to the support group. Paul runs them, we meet at 6:30 on the 4th Thursday of the month.

Good luck with your upcoming surgery.

I had my EGD on 8/4 and surgery 8/5 thru True Results and Dr Esquivel. I have no complaints. I met the dr at pre-op meeting and before surgery. He was very nice and answered any questions that my hubby and I had. Everyone at TR has given me all the info and support I need. Once monthly (I think 4th Thurs of each month) the Austin office has a good support group. They meet from about 6:30-8 p.m. I would highly recommend TR. and Dr Alex Esquivel.

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

That sounds awesome. I'll have to check that out thanks!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
