banded, banding, bands--verb--To assemble or unite in a group

Positive people unite! This thread is being created for the sole use of positive people to give positive reinforcement to others in the group that we care about. We know that we may disagree on some issues but we will offer constructive criticism, objective suggestions, we will always give kind support even when delivering the occasional (but necessary) kick in the pants.

J's mom...I discovered that there are tons of Zumba classes around here. I e-mailed the one instructor and asked her what the chances are of me coming out of this without a broken leg or arm...given that I can't even keep in time with Richard Simmons. She said everyone 'gets it' eventually. Ha...she's obviously never met me. So I'm thinking DVD's cuz it does look like fun! However, when I looked them up, it looks like they're over $100. :w00t:

Was I looking at the wrong thing?

Blah, feeling like an over filled garbage can right about now. I ate a McDouble and 2 chicken strips in one setting, ugh! Feels like it's sitting right at the top of my throat. Lesson learned...don't do that anymore!!!!

Start over again tomorrow...good night folks!

Yuck! Stop eating that crap. It's nasty!

I know it is convenient but it is really no good for you. If you want fast precooked food, try the deli in the supermarket. Granted there is no drive thru but you'll feel much better afterward.

16:15 until I check in.

Getting anxious like I am forgetting to do something but the only instructions I have are: don't eat or drink anything after midnight; take a pepcid before going to bed and take a couple of showers with the special soap.

For those who don't know and may care, my name is Bob but I am going to start responding to Brian as well. It started here earlier this week and I didn't correct the person. Now, at least a half dozen others have referred to me as Brian.

Oh well, I get called far worse all of the time. :w00t:

I'm actually having more trouble with deli meats than ANYTHING else, it's bizarre, but consistant...go figure.

Good luck tomorrow Bob/Brian/other bad B words. You're doing great, and you'll keep doing great, and in another month I'll have to hate you because you weigh less than me! Are you an over nighter or will you be home tomorrow sometime? Drop us a line when you get a chance and let us know you're alive and banded! (take care of yourself and good luck!)

but I never get that nagging chest pain when I take one bite too many like I hear people mention. Is that something everyone gets with proper restriction?

Hi Juliansmom,

I don't get chest pain often. Only when I get something stuck.

I just look for a whisper of satiety.

Out-surgery.

I should be home by 5 PM CST tomorrow.

Under 16 hours now!

I hope I can handle deli food once I am eating solids. It is where I go when I don't feel like cooking.

Will be thinking of you!!!!

Let me rephrase, I have more trouble with deli meats than anything else...I'm a cooking kinda girl so never actually buy anything at the deli but meat...and right now it's evil stuff.

Jell-o is your friend! That was my motto the first 2 weeks post-op. (That and "wow, I seriously took pooping for granted before that" but that might be TMI):w00t:

Bob, you will do great with the surgery and you have many people here that can offer you help post-op.

(whether you want the help of not :w00t: )

Please do let us know how you are doing as soon as you feel up to it.

Elfie--the Zumba DVDs can get quite pricy. I got a set of 4 on eBay for $35 plus shipping. On the site itsel, they have the total transformation set on there for like $65, but as with a lot of weight loss DVDs, a lot of that stuff you will never use. EBay has always worked well for me.

Bob- God speed my good man. See you on the other side! We're all thinking of you and pulling for you!!

Hi Juliansmom, another east coast early riser on this thread. I've never done zumba, although I work out every day,and see a trainer. I'm thinking it may be fun - and wondering if it's something my 10 year old daughter would have fun doing with me (always looking for opportunities to have good clean fun with my kids - that was one of my motivations for surgery). Please let me know if you like the set, and if you think it would be fun to do with a 10 year old.

BTW, to those who started and are keeping this thread going, I love seeing the great attitude on this board. I look forward to seeing what's posted.
