Recommended Posts

Oh my gosh I just got another fill wed. I was at lunch today and took one bite of a rib that my friend had. I just wanted a taste of it and one bite got stuck oowee I will never ever wanna feel like this again. I thought I was gonna need to go home I am at work luckily I was on my lunch hr. I went to the bathroom and was burping like crazy and it still didn't go down finally I bent over and stuck my finger in my throat and it came up and I felt better. Still can feel a lil in my throat, but doesn't hurt anymore that was the worst. I am now at 6.5cc's and I now know I can't eat any dry meats im scared now.

I know just how u feel! i have 8cc in my band and im learning what i can and cant eat everyday. right now i feel like everything gets stuck. so ive got to ether eat very small bites or not eat them at all.... i have a hard time with breads Pasta most meats and allot of cake kind of foods. its hard to get used to but im sure it will pay off. im down 20 pounds right now and hope to keep loosing im thinking i might need to have an unfill lol hope your doing great!

Yeah now I know im going to have to eat softer foods that can go down a lil easier or I may have to get a unfill that was the worst feeling ever.

I know what you mean. I ate half of a half of a very well toasted (read burned) english muffin w/ cream cheese about two weeks after my first fill in December and about a minute later I thought I was going to die. I had to go stand in the restroom at work until it finally passed after about five minutes. Ugh!! It was the worst feeling ever. I'm imagining something like it must feel to have a heart attack! Pain, sweating, nausia. Haven't had an english muffin since!

I had a similar experience today, only mine was from a turkey sausage flatbread (pls note I didn’t eat the flat bread just the turkey sausage egg white) and I must have eaten too fast or the egg was too compacted because it got stuck after 3 bites. I agree it was a horrible experience and I never want to experience it again.

I have found that there are some soft meats I can eat, but if you hate fish you are outta luck with those too.

Try crab or scallops. ( chili works too/ meat & Beans for protein)

Yeah I know now no bread or doughy like foods for me or dry meats. Yes I love fish my husband made some saturday and that went down fine. It's boiled and fresh fish so it was very soft. I just hope when I eat baked salmon that goes down salmon can be kind of dry and it's my favorite dish.

Yes, try and stick it out. I got a fill a week ago and for 5 days had a horrible time of it. But now I feel I'm just right. If you rush back in for an unfill you probably won't have restriction then.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
