We will have to stick together. Are you scared? My heaviest was 337 last September. So yesterday was 306. I am very excited about the surgery but a little scared too. Are you scared or just ready to go? Thanks for the friend request. Doing this together is going to make it much easier.

Got my date for April 12th after 13 months of working toward this. I really had to fight my insurance company and also my primary care physician. I am so excited to finally get this done. I am dreading the pre-op diet because I am sure I will be starving but I will do what I need to do to get there. I look forward to meeting friends here and helping each other!! Karen

I'm getting banded April 9th! Excited to be part of this thread and go through the journey with all of you. It seems some people in the discussion groups have side effects, but many are minor. Looking forward to the journey!

2 weeks from today I will be banded!

Now it's the pre-op diet, but man is it real now! Seemed like I had so long to wait, and it really flew by. Now I'm nervous as all get out! Anybody else?:o

I am having surgery on April 1st. My Doctor requires a 14 day Optifast diet. I am on day 5 and have already lost 7 pounds!! This diet isn't much fun but I know it is preparing me for Post-op liquid diet.< /p>

Does everyone in here have to do the pre-op diet? For some reason I don't have to. I was sure I would have to. So I'm kind of suprised that I don't. Not that I am griping.

No ma'am. I was not required to do a pre-op diet, but my starting BMI is so high that I decided to do one anyway... The last thing I wanted was to wake up from surgery having not been banded because my liver was too large!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
