I got so tired of exersicing and the scale not moving so I ate everything yesterday and drank my first diet coke. I started off good having two eggs for Breakfast but then for lunch made homemade pizza. I had alot of it then made chezzy hashbrown cassrole for supper and had a whole plate of that. This morning for breakfast had half plate of the cassrole and one hotdog. I have decided to get over it and do better before I gain. I just needed to let it out that I screwed up. It just makes me made that I have done great and no weight loss. I have not ate that much since before the surgery.

When did you have your surgery? I can't imagine how you managed to eat that many carbs without getting sick! Didn't the diet coke give you problems? Is your band too loose?

I had my surgery on nov 23 and have 3cc in my bad. I had done great with my calories and exersice until last night. I don't even like coke, but for some reason I wanted one yesterday. I didn't drink it all at once a little hear and there but finished it within two hours. The pizza was very thin crust almost none with about 5 pepperonis. I had not had bread until last night and it went down fine. Had bout 5 pieces pizza. For supper I could not belive I ate the whole plate of cheezy cassrole. This morning the Hotdog and cassrole went down fine. About two weeks ago i got the stumack bug and had to Go to er so they could stop the vomiting, but I had already vomited for nine hours. they gave me three bags Fluid. anyway I great restriction till bout two day after that. I will do better starting now.

Do you think you need a fill? Sounds like maybe you do since you were able to eat so much and not get sick. Best of luck getting back on track!

So you fell off the wagon. Get back on and don't look back!!!! and get a fill . There is no way you could eat what you did with proper restriction.

Hey girl I hear ya! It's been hard for me too. Do you know how many CCs your band is? I had mine done 7/3/09 and it's an 11cc band. Yesterday I had my 4th fill for a total of 7.2ccs in there now. I could really feel a difference last evening! I'm being good and doing the 48 hours post-fill liquids but I can tell. I hope it doesn't loosen up after several days. I completely understand that when you have no restriction and you're THAT hungry, it's almost impossible. I mean you can keep it up for awhile, but not long-term - WHICH IS WHY WE NEEDED THE BANDS TO BEGIN WITH! :bored: Anyway, keep your chin up and don't beat yourself up for having a set-back. You're human and humans aren't perfect.

Hang in there skinny! I completely understand your frustration--it's so hard when you are going by the book and the results aren't matching all your efforts. I think a lot of us are feeling that way lately and it's great we can all vent to each other and come here for support.

It definitely sounds like you need another fill. I could eat that much too, so I feel your pain. I am just trying to hold on to the next fill, but it's getting hard and I can sooo understand a mini binge, trust me.

It's great that you're getting back on the horse. You have been doing so great. I think once you get to some proper restriction, all of this will pay off for you.

Hang in there!!!! Now I want pizza LOL!

We've all 'been there, done that'. It will get better when your band is actually working with you. Just take each day as it comes. Sounds like you are back on track and recommitted so give yourself a pat on the back. Remember the old days when (if you're like me), you'd 'blow it' and then continue to blow it for weeks or months?

Hey no one's perfect. I'm a PERFECT example of that! Just don't allow how you felt the last two days to totally de-rail all the hard work you've put in.

I think it's really important to stay realistic. We should be ok to have something we truly enjoy sometimes, or it's just going to start feeling like "another diet" and we will tend to blow it on binges.

You likely need a little fill, but what you really need right now is some support. DO NOT GIVE UP AND DO NOT BEAT YOUR SELF UP! Just stay focused and just let that day be Water under the bridge.

You are doing really great. And yes, I do believe if any one of us didn't have an unhealthy relationship with food, we would not have needed the extra help of a lap-band.

Has the position/patency of your band been verified since your vomiting episode?

I think a trip to the doc to check things out and/or get a good fill would be a great first step.

We all struggle with the head hunger---I'm sorry your head won the battle, but that doesn't define you. Today's another day.

Don't beat yourself .. we are only human and have a lot osf years of bad habits that we are trying to "UNLEARN".

I binged yesterday also.. French Fries-- and I spent 1.5 hours sliming after I ate them

Hang in there and for absolution for today sing the old "Frito Bandito" song and then climb back on the wagon.

BTW -- this week I lost the 2#- I gained back last week.. I feel like I am on a teeter totter some weeks.

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
