What if this doesn't work either?

I'm glad to hear someone else admit this is very hard and the way we go about it is going to show the results (good or bad). Thanks for your out spoken honesty.

Gosh this was my first post way back in January. I can say to all of you, thanks for easing my worries! My wonderful tool is working like it should be, still needs a bit of tweeking, but I am losing steadily about a pound or two per week. Closer to the pound, but so long as it goes away I dont' care!

It has been work, but oh so much easier since I am not feeling hungry. I do battle the head hunger, but I win out about 98% of the time!

Today is a birthday party for my youngest DD. I had a fill on Wednesday so I am still on liquids and maybe mushies if I can tolerate them today. The best part--I don't even care about the food. I am not hungry and the old stuff I used to eat really no longer appeals to me.

Next challenge Disney World...My guess is with all that walking I'll be fine, and since my tastes have changed I am not worried about eating things that are over the top in calories!

I totally agree with ausamerican33 - what a great thread. All the research I have done has not touched his much on the psychological end of things. I am excited and confident on my decision to get the band (July 8th) but a small part of me can't imagine me finally being successfull and reaching my goal weight. It feels like some sort of dream that could never come true. Reading everyones success stories I'm so excited to have some hope that with this tool I can do it. In the past I have shown that I can exercise hard, I actually enjoy it, but as soon as I slacked off at all the weight would jump right back on me :frown: and I would get discouraged and fall back into bad habits. But soon with the band helping that won't happen and there might actually be hope I can make it to my goal - or even close would be just fine. I'm so excited to have real hope for the first time in many many years!!!! My youngest is 13 and I have been trying to lose the weight since then.

Hey Patsal,

Congrats on your wonderful loss. :(

I too had that nagging feeling that I would be the one person that did everything just like they told me to and still be a big failure. Instead, I got banded April 7 and have lost 49 pounds total. I am thrilled.

No it is not always easy, but it is working and worth it.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
