Well I was banded 11-12-09. I have had 2 fills ,have a 10cc band and Im at 5cc now. I watch what I eat and work out 4 days a week. Everything seems to be going good. Im down from 215 to 184. The doctor said I was loseing at the right rate.

What Im not to sure is how much fats , carbohydrates, and calories you are suppose to have a day. How much is to much or to little? Any help will be great. Thanks. Good luck to everyone!!!!

I count calories and Protein. You want to get between 40 and 60 grams. I eat about 650 calories. As far as carbs, get them from the "right sources. Things like fruit, Beans, starchy vegies like corn or potatoe, whole grain Cereal, oatmeal. Dairy offers some carbs too. My nutritionist says 2 servings of dairy a day. I like lowfat cheese sticks and yougurt.

My nut says 40-60 gms of Protein per day & no more than 5gm fat and 15gms of carbs per serving. Make sure you get your Water in.

I say when in doubt call your nutritionist or go to a support group meeting. I have mine on FB and email. LOL Well are you at least getting your 65 grams of protien a day? a cal range of 1200-1500 is ideal for weightloss for a smaller person. your nutritionist can give you a range approp for your BMI.

Studies prove that women lose weight faster when they stick around 1200-1400 calories per day. Less and you lose slower because your body drops your metabolism and becomes more efficient because it thinks it's starving. You'll also lose lean muscle mass instead of fat.

Every nut/doc will have different nutritional requirements and there is wide disagreement on how much of your diet should be Protein vs. carbs. From experience, I do best on a diet where I limit the carbs found in Pasta, potatoes, rice, bread, etc. These types of carbs send my blood sugar skyward which leads to craving more carbs. During the day I get a limited amount of carbs...the few found in a low carb Protein shake or salad type vegies. At dinner I allow myself 1/4-1/2 cup of Pasta, rice, potatoes, etc.

I recently begun using "Myfitnesspal.com" to track what I eat and if I had met my goals. It really is the neatest thing! After you enter in your foods it keeps track of your calorie consumption, in addition to carbs, Proteins, Vitamin C...etc You might want to check it out! Good luck to you!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
