I haven't been sleeved yet but I CAN"T WAIT come on DECEMBER!! I DO NOT like how I look now! I WANT to FEEL better! I want to take control of my LIFE!! From what I've been told this Sleeve is a TOOL and it will be up to ME to use it correctly!!! Read the SUCCESS stories out on this website!! I'm thinking it is like everything else in life you will have to put some WORK into this but LOOK at the rewards!!! HANG in there the EXPERTS of this website will respond soon!! Has anyone used Dr Dean Mc Daniel in Victoria, TX to get Sleeved? This is the doctor that I am seeing right now. He suggested the sleeve for me. I'm just looking for reviews on him.....a little reassurance for me. He seems to know what he is doing and is very nice. So is his staff!

OMG I haven't had surgery yet but I better read more about this dumping thing..I heard about it but I better read more. Sorry this happened to you but GLAD you lost the weight!!! Here in Texas we have grocery stores called HEB and they make a lactose free milk that tastes JUST LIKE REAL milk! MOOTOPIA and it is high in protein. I've purchased it for years because my daughter is lactose intolerant and my whole family drinks it. You can't tell the difference.

Kimmes YES I was feeling the same way! LAST SUPPER is what my doctor called it! I haven't been Sleeved yet but one day I was reading about a man that was crying because he couldn't eat his favorite food. It HIT me at that moment I have LET FOOD control me my whole life and it HAS TO STOP! Tiff commented on my forum when I wrote the same thing and she gives GREAT advice!!! Which FOOD FUNERAL is GREAT TIFF!!! I laughed so hard but it is a TRUE feeling. You WILL be able to eat your favorite foods one day just NOT AS MUCH! That is what has stopped me from EATING EVERYTHING IN SIGHT!! If you think about it a bite is really all you need to ENJOY the flavor!!! Keep reading on this website because it is the BEST place to be and SO HELPFUL in getting you ready for surgery! I'm HOPING for a December Sleeve...I'm doing the weight management for my insurance right now! GOOD LUCK!

WOW WAY TO GO GIRL!!! I don't know you but I'M SO PROUD OF YOU!! ha ha THANKS for sharing your before changes! I'm trying to do the same thing now that I quit eating everything in site. In fact, today I had a Protein shake for lunch(I'm trying different flavors to see which ones I like) I will see how I do for supper now. My weakness is chips and Bread too so you have really opened my eyes to what I NEED to do before my SLEEVE in December! I went out to eat with my daughter last night for Mexican food and choose not to eat the chips with salsa but put the salsa on my meal and that really satisfied my craving and I wasn't STUFFED from too many chips! Reading stories like yours REALLY INSPIRE me! THANK YOU AGAIN for SHARING with us!!!

Why do some people have to be so mean? My Mother in law has a problem with over weight people has for as long as I can remember and likes to talk about them. She doesn't do it in front of me anymore but she always makes comments to my husband and her other son. She knows this affects her boys...the one started talking crap about how much his wife eats...my husband FINALLY said, Mom it's his LIFE not yours so don't worry about it! I just don't understand WHY she thinks it's her JOB to tell her boys how FAT someone is getting! It makes me SO MAD!! By the way my husband is COMING AROUND and TRYING to be supportive about my up coming SLEEVE! I can talk to him about it now and he LISTENS. I just told him I NEED HIM and his HELP to succeed...I think the I NEED YOU got him. LOL He told me the other night he is fine with my surgery he just doesn't want his mother to find out. He thinks she will be waiting for me to fail or watching to judge me more and I KNOW HE IS RIGHT! I just don't understand how some people can be so CRUEL!!

I'm in the same boat right now just waiting BUT my insurance company is making me do three months with a weight management doctor. I've done my Nutrition class and Therapist evaluation and passed by the way!!! I go to my weight management doctor for the second month on Nov 4 with my last one Dec 2. Then wait again on the insurance. My doctor's office did tell me I have to be on a liquid diet for 2 weeks before my surgery...this is to shrink the liver to make the surgery easier! Good LUCK and you found the RIGHT place for SUPPPORT and INFORMATION!!! My doctors office DID tell me if the insurance is satisfied with my three months then I will have my surgery late December!! I CAN'T wait!!!!

GOD IS GOOD and he does HELP us through our trials! I'm glad you are feeling better. My daughter gave me a cross that says, "WHEN IN DOUBT LOOK UP!!"

My Sister types for doctors and she had the Gastric bypass. When I asked her about the Sleeve she said she wishes she would have done the Sleeve instead of the Bypass. She has had a lot of problems with her bypass....gallstones, kidney stones...leakage and had to be cut open. She has gained a lot back...not as big as she was but she has gained. She had her surgery three years ago. She said the doctors in her area are leaning more for the Sleeve now because of the success they are seeing and less complications. I would suggest you read as much as you can! I'm sure you can google pros and cons! I haven't had my surgery yet but I'm EXCITED to be SLEEVED in December! My doctor told me....He will give me the TOOL to lose weight but it will be up to ME to use it correctly! SO, if you are Sleeved or Bypassed it will be up to you to keep off the weight. GOOD LUCK!!!!

I also had this TALK with my 25 year old. In fact, I wanted to have the surgery last year but she said if I do it she will do it. So I waited and she LOST another 55 last year but over 100 pounds, it took her 2 yrs but she did it! Yesterday she got into her little sisters jeans....now my youngest is upset...it will NEVER end!! LOL Now she said it's not fair but she is OK with me going through with the sleeve. I told her I will have to exercise just like her to get my weight off but I just need some help! GOOD LUCK!

KristyKreem, Sleevesearch is right! I haven't been sleeved yet but I've read as many post on this website as I can and I've decided I am NOT getting on the scale everyday after I have my surgery. I told my Therapist this and she said OH YOU WILL WANT TO and I said NO I've let my weight control me most of my life. I refuse to let the SCALE take control. If you want to read some WONDERFUL SUCCESS stories to get you motivated there is a forum on your NSV= NON SCALE VICTORY!!! As for me I'm going to save ONE pair of my favorite capris and when I have a bad day I will try them on to SEE THE RESULTS!!! GOOD LUCK girl and HANG IN THERE!! It sounds like everyone goes through this and YES as soon as the second week!!! Just know it WILL come off!!! Your body is adjusting!

I want to know did anyone save their favorite pair of pants/shorts from before you lost your weight just to put on and SEE THE RESULTS? I maybe crazy but I want to save my favorite pair of capris that I wear all the time. EVERYTHING else will be GONE forever!!! LOL That way IF I have a bad day I can put them on and SEE THE RESULTS. I'm a visual person so I want to SEE RESULTS! I can't wait!!

Welcome! You have come to the RIGHT place. I'm not sleeved yet but HOPE to be in December. My advise to you is read everything you can on this website. I was a MESS when I first found this website...an EMOTIONAL MESS! The support that EVERYONE on here gives you is AMAZING to say the least. It's normal to be scared you are changing your life but for the BETTER!! I went through the stage of eating everything in site...which is called the "Last SUPPER stage". Then it hit me WHY I'M I LETTING FOOD CONTROL ME??? This hit me after reading a forum on this website! Now I'm still worried but my EXCITEMENT overpowers the fear. Looking and reading the stories of the SUCCESS and how GOOD they feel has helped me!!! I want to know the GOOD, BAD, and UGLY about this journey so that I can LEARN and be PREPARED! I know now I'm not the ONLY one in this life with these problems but now I have a SUPPORT GROUP that will BE THERE FOR ME!!! This is what this website is THE BEST SUPPORT GROUP ANYONE could ask for!!!!!

So I went to my Nutritionist today and she was telling us that we won't have the same hunger pain feelings for a while after surgery because that part of the stomach will be gone. She said that our body will tell us another way. My question to all that have been sleeved how do you know? She said it might be a pain behind the shoulder or some people sneeze when they get full. This just sound different to me. Just wondered what others have experienced.

I go to the Nutrition Class for two hours and then to the Therapist TOMORROW. I'm a little nervous about the Therapist...never been to one! I scheduled my last two appointments for my weight management doctor. I emailed my Doctors Nurse to see what else I need to do to get my date set. I asked how long after my last appointment will it take for my insurance to let you know if I'm approved. She said they have 30 days but most of the time it is like 2 days. I asked if I could start my liquid diet the next day so if they approve it I will be one step ahead. (Since I have to be on it for two weeks) She said YES! She told me I will get my diet from my class but to come by after the class and we can talk more!!! I then told her I would like to have my surgery between Dec. 20th and 29th. I would LOVE for this to be my Christmas Present! What better Present can I give myself then to get HEALTHY! Besides my insurance deductable is going to double next year...LOL I hope I can sleep tonight!!! HopeandFaith!!!

So after reading more posts last night about midnight it hit me! food can't control my life anymore. I WILL be able to TASTE my favorite foods one day just not OVER EAT them. I mean this is what I thought about.....does my third piece of pizza taste as good as the first....NO it doesn't because I'm already FULL but still want more. Honestly, I had pizza just last week and it already tasted different. I believe GOD is preparing me! I have to find my stopping point and stick with it. I can't WAIT to have my Sleeve done. HOPEFULLY, I will have my MIND SET and be ready....I'm REALLY TRYING! I emailed my Doctors office today to see what else I need to do to get my date set.
