weird question
I just lied and said we were going on a vacation. Just a low key getaway. When you don't say much on the matter it seems people stop asking. I only took a week off so it really wasn't a big deal.

Sleever's Rendezvous...?
I am all for the Keys. I live in Washington state so it would be a long travel but I think the activities are just too perfect for the new healthy me. AND to have someone volunteer to arrange EVERYTHING it doesn't get any easier. All I have to do is get my ticket and pay. I'm in!

Dr. Aceves and smoking
I went to Dr. Aceves in November. My bmi was 35 so I had no pre op diet. At the time I did quit smoking a month in a half before surgery on my own doing. So I am not sure what his requirements are. They are wonderful people there. I would just call or email and ask. Good luck.

WHY ME???
Leesey- Lol too funny. Any way back to the Bread. I personally try and stay away only because I am still losing and I lose WAY faster this way. However that being said I had pita bread last night. When I eat bread I have to take the smallest bite (quarter size) and chew like crazy, swallow. Then wait like 3-5 minutes no joke for my next bite. So last night I had 3 bites in 20 minutes. When it is all said and done it is hardly worth it for me. Now I eat all my food slow or I will throw it up. Bread is super rediculously slow. If you are craving it maybe try using a dipping sauce like ranch or something. I know it's not healthy but come-on it's not like you will have more than a few bites. Good luck. My weakness it chocolate. I will eat 5-6 mini Reese until I and sick on the couch in the fetal positions. I am new and still learning and sometimes the cravings win.

Hello to everyone!
Welcome! This was/is my life saver. There are some great people on here, and the best part is they have all gone through the same thing. Good luck on your journey ahead.

landed @ san diego airport..
You will do great. I was just there November 25. Be prepared for a long drive to the hospital. 2+ hours other than that and the not eating today. It was super easy. You are in good hands.

Is it normal to be hungry 5 days post op
The whole time I was on liquid / puree I thought I was starving. I am sure at least half was mental. Now that I am on real food it is much easier. Good luck.

6 weeks, doc dissapointed in weight loss
Have you tryed the low Carb (30 or less) diet. I stalled for about 3 weeks got angry and started low carbing it on Monday. It totally worked. My stall broke and I am down 2.5 lbs since Monday. That is awesome for me. It is worth a shot. Good luck.

Rock and a Hard Place
Not to start anything BUT I have to totally disagree. I know for me I would not have been attracted to me a few months back and it would not be a weight thing. Pre surgery I had zero self confidence. I was depressed. I didn't take care of myself, always Waring big oversized sweatshirts and sweats. No pep in my step. Not caring what or how much I put in my body. Did I mention depressed. I felt like a failure. And now...... I have lost 30 lbs still have 50 to go but just the fact that I am losing I am soooo happy. I am no longer depressed. I don't feel like a failure any more. I have my pep back. I am taking care of myself again, fitting jeans & shirts, makeup. I feel better about me and that alone makes me hotter. IMO So I might be shallow but I find it hard to be attracted to someone who is not taking care of themselves. I really hope I don't upset anyone with this. That is not my intention. I just wanted to put another view out there.

Valentine's Day... What Will You Weigh???
- Alcohol
I am only 2 months out and my favorite drink is vodka and cranberry juice. Wine is ok too just depends on the acid reflux. I get drunk just by looking at a drink now after surgery. It also only takes about a half hour to hour and I am sober again. I can't do beer or soda. I have tried and it is still way to much carbonation for me. I would try a drink at home first. Good luck and congratulations on the Hubby coming home. Have fun.- Looking to make the 20 somethings forum active
