Randgalt got a reaction from SleeveandRNYchica in Did Anyone By A New Article Of Clothing Pre-Surgery?
As a man, I'm not afraid to say that I can't wait to go clothes shopping in a normal store again. For the past few years clothes shopping for me has been about covering my fat and buying anything that doesn't look terrible. To be able to again wear something because I like the way it looks will be wonderful.

Not me (sorry to lurk into the Ladies' room). At the moment, though, I'm enjoying working backwards through clothes. I've lost 22 lbs since surgery and am currently in clothes from many years ago. Optimistically, I never threw them out.

My first stall was after my second week - and the stall lasted for almost 5 weeks. When my stall ended I lost 12 lbs the next two weeks. It all evens out, just give it time.

Randgalt got a reaction from Nette Fosters in Pose
Last year I actively considered a LapBand but ended up rejecting it for a variety of reasons. Recently, I heard about a new procedure that may be the answer to my prayers, POSE. It's more common in Europe - I think there's only one clinic doing it in the US (in Louisiana). I'd appreciate knowing if anyone here knows about it and can give anecdotes/advise/etc.

I have both psoriasis and eczema. Both seem better post surgery. I hadn't thought about it but someone mentioned that my skin looks clearer.

Someone in the August sleevers group named mine "Isaac" because my surgery was on Aug 27 in New Orleans during the hurricane.

Just a note on progress: weight loss has slowed to a normal rate (which I'm glad for). As of today I'm down 28 lbs (212)!

I just tried a beer at 3 months out. It was a non-event. I had to drink it slow and I ddn't finish it, but I was able to sit back a happy hour and feel like a normal human being. I am staying in my calorie guiltiness. I think there is a little too much drama around this. I can ruin my diet with excessive alcohol, or with Cookies. I don't plan to do either.
So far beer does not appear to be an evil, sleeve-exploding devil-beverage.

Ummm, stretching your sleeve really is not a concern, in fact it's nearly impossible. But here is a video that illustrates why we don't drink while eating or soon after.

Sleeved Aug 27 and doing great. I'm down 23 lbs which boggles my mind. I'm on liquids plus I eat an egg or two a day, bananas, oatmeal, and some milk (pudding mostly). I'd never been lactose intolerant before but I need to take lactaid with any milk.
For exercise I'm trying to walk 30 minutes a day or so. I had an umbilical hernia fixed and can't do any heavy lifting for several more weeks. I've been getting about 400-500 cals a day. Today I got around 750.

No malabsorption - no food restrictions - no dumping - much simpler surgery. I can't think of a good reason to do a bypass.

I just can't imagine why someone would want to suffer with a bypass when VSG is an option. In the worst case, VSG can be revised into a bypass. It's a no-brainer.
