  1. THANK YOU SOOO VERY MUCH FOR POSTING THIS! I will now be saving lots of cash and calories as I no longer have to frequent Planet Smoothie! THIS IS A VERY VERY DELICIOUS SMOOTHIE! I have made over and over and will continue as it has everything! The carbs are tad high BUT it is from the fruit so I am ok with that! Thank you!
  2. When you enter the recipe there is a spot at the bottom that ask if you want to share it publicly or it can be just for you. It is a check box. No worries I will log it in and if you give me a name(it is your recipe) then you can search it and use it too
  3. This sounds amazing! Did you make it public on My Fitness Pal? If so what did you call it so I can log it too! Sounds like something I would want every morning for breakfast! THANK YOU SO MUCH!
  4. I live and was banded in Tampa. I am in Oldsmar area. I went to Dr. Murr. I attended the Tampa General Hospital group sessions. I haven't been back since my surgery and I am seriously considering going to the post op group sessions. Good Luck with your banding Grider you will do great I am sure.
  5. Thanks everyone!! I think doodlebugsmom has a good idea. Maybe I should go back to liquids a couple of days and let my stomach chill for a bit. I am able to keep down tuna fish and some chicken broth and scrambled eggs totally fine. Smaller portions to date still, but that is what I expect so I am going to try the liquids then give it a little more time. I would love to say barely eating in almost two weeks that I have lost a lot of weight, but I haven't lost anything. I will call the Dr tomorrow too and see what they advise as well to be safe, but I feel ok and not hungry. Thanks again all for the advice I love getting support from people that actually know what they are talking about and are living this as well
  6. I just had my fourth fill on June 9th and I am now at 6.8 cc. I postponed this last fill three months as I felt I was "ok" still losing and ate just enough. The reason I went for this fill is that in the last month I was getting my hunger back and no weight loss in over a month so I figured ok I will go. She put in .8cc and since then I can't keep anything down. Today was the first day it was better. I had soup and some salad and no pain at all and it stayed down. I am eating very very small portions and chewing and I have never had a problem since being banded. Liquids are not a problem at all except for my protein shakes in the morning. I was wondering how long do I wait to see if I am too tight or give it more time and see how it goes? I have to say I was in the Keys on vacation this last week and it was so frustrating that ANYTHING I ate came back up no matter how small or how brothy the soups were. Any advice? Thanks!
  7. I kept one pair of pants that I wore constantly. The others go daily! If I try it on and it is too big, I donate to friends or the local shelter and Goodwill. I agree that keeping them could set in someones mind that they may "need" them again and NO ONE will go back, right!!
  8. Yes, mine changed as well from a 10 -11 to a 8.5 or 9....all depends on the shoe! Now I am not afraid to wear heels! I was always worried I would snap them
  9. So I haven't lost a lot of weight, but with my food choices and exercise I am finally off ALLLLL of my meds! No more, diabetes meds...no more blood pressure meds...no more cholesterol meds! To me that is so exciting!!! I remember a little over a year ago being prescribed them and freaked out because my blood work was so bad. The Dr has now officially said continue with my weight loss and exercise regime and we will continue to monitor every three months, but NO MORE MEDS!!! So basically my message to everyone is keep on trying no matter how slow the weight loss or no matter the amount of weight loss it DOES HELP!
  10. I haven't had any problem with skinny mojitos or wine. I just had my first beer a week ago and poured it in a glass and let it sit. I don't like beer anyway, but no problems. It is true that if you are drunk you can and will make bad food choices or at least that is what happens to me So I do it in moderation or count the calories into my day.
  11. You know ,,,,,you are absolutely right!!! Thank you stateofzen!! I have a bad habit of seeing things only one way! You put it in another realistic perspective and I had NO IDEA I lost 10 BMI points....YAYYYYYAAAYYY, that makes me so excited! Thank you so much! Plus, another great point you make is what is three years or two or whatever as long as I succeed!!! :D:D:D:D
  12. WOW everyone is doing amazing at the 6 month mark. I tried and hoped for 50 by this mark, but instead I am only at 34 pounds lost at the 6 month mark. Pity party table of 1!!! I feel like a complete failure. I know I know I am NOT to compare myself to others, but in reality EVERYONE that has posted here is wwaaaay past me. I just had my third fill with 6ccs and I do feel restricted. I can't eat quickly anymore and I am FOR SURE not eating anywhere near the amount or types I food I used to. Being so over weight I thought my body would be shedding the weight quicker at first, but it has been very slow. Don't get me wrong I am very happy I did this, but at the same time I feel I am failing this!!
  13. B-52 is soooo right! I have experienced this myself after my third fill and 6 months out. It is yucky to say the least. I learned that it is from me NOT chewing or taking SMALL bites. Now I think before I eat. Still trying to learn to think before I speak
  14. I went to the Dr. yesterday for my annual check up and they gave me "the gown" to put on ANNNDD....it fit! It was the regular gowns they always have that always leave my tid bits showing, but not this time! YYAAAYYY!!!
  15. I know....advertisements keep the site up. I am glad the site is here! Just glad it isn't an AA site with Budweiser ad's on it
  16. I have to agree with Swirl. I know I have to make better choices, everyday. However, I thought I would physically not be able to eat a whole cheeseburger due to restriction and or the fact my pouch is small and not the size of my regular stomach. I have lost only 24 pounds since 9-10-10 and nothing since 12-4-10. I eat three meals a day no snacking and do eat less than before. I have also noticed I do not crave food like I did before nor do I eat mindlessly anymore. I also used to eat a pint of Ben and Jerry's each night and haven't had a BITE since before surgery as well as many other desserts. So with those changes I HOPE the LB works. I do eat a lot less and I am hoping my weight loss is so slow cause I don't always make good choices even though less. I also hope it is cause I have not yet reached restriction (4cc's in a 10cc). I hope, otherwise I may end up feeling just like Swirl said.
  17. During my first fill there was also a "pop" feeling, but I didn't hear a noise. The Dr. explained the port is encapsulated with scar tissue and she explained it is like a scab and that the first time she inserts the needle she has to get through the hard surface. So the "pop" I felt was normal. She then said after a while the body absorbs the tissues more easily like losing the scab on the skin and the second time is easier. So the second time came around and it was easier! The needle totally went in with no problem and no pop feeling. That was my experience, but you can always call and ask to speak to the nurse to make sure.
  18. Thanks guys! I appreciate the advice and support! I need to stay focused so I too can reach 50 one day I am so impatient! If anything this is teaching me to take my time in every way imaginable
  19. CONGRATS! You have done an amazing job! I unfortunately am feeling a little down as I was banded on 9-10-10 and have only lost 24 pounds and nothing lost at all since 12-4-10. My third fill is 2-24-11 and I hope it helps. Anyway I love seeing these great posts and your blog is awesome, I appreciate the time you put into it! Your gorgeous so I too would have walked right up to your ex to show him what he is missin!!!
  20. It totally helps and thank you so much!! I am losing weight still, which I am very happy about it is just slower after the two weeks of the fill so I wasn't sure if it was me or my hunger or I am just trying to get used to this thing :-) Thanks for saying I probably won't get to 10 cc's I think that is my biggest fear.
  21. I am defining it as the Dr. explained it to me which is that I will only be able to eat a 1/2 to 1 cup of food at a time. Now after my second fill I can eat more than that. I can eat eggs in the morning and two turkey patties just fine and then be hungry for lunch at 12. I expected to feel what the nutritionist described and the nurse, but so far don't. I thought what I feel two weeks after my fill is what you should feel all the time. So I thought I would ask the forum to get different opinions and I thank you for yours.
  22. I just read someone else reached it in their third fill so maybe my next fill will be closer. I can only hope, since I am so unsure what it feels like etc..
  23. This is so great! I am hoping my third fill I get restriction :-) I have been so stressed about feeling restriction.
  24. I know everyone is different, but I am feeling discouraged. I have 4cc's in a 10 cc band and a couple of weeks after a fill I can feel the tightness and eat small portions. Then after two weeks I feel like I can eat anything and everything. Some people do not have ANY fills and feel restriction and lose weight like crazy. Confused I don't want to get to 10cc's and still feel like this. Is that even possible? My next fill is 2-24-11 and it can't come soon enough
  25. I miss my diet Coke and diet Pepsi, but not nearly as much as I miss my sparkling water! I haven't had any at all since my surgery My Dr also states no carbonated beverages unless you leave them sit. Here is my thing with the "it expands your pouch" statement. Prior to surgery I drank at least 4-5 diet sodas a day, does that mean it expanded my regular stomach too? I didn't think the carbonation had that much force inside your stomach to do this. Anatomically and physiologically speaking this confuses me. I just stay away from it period since the Dr said no carbonation. I also can't stand flat diet soda.....yuck! Everyone else is correct that it is just chemicals and it truly doesn't do anything for us health wise at all.
