Jealousy
Aly and GottaGive, LOL. Yeah, that's what I thought myself when I heard that. People can be so nasty !

Weighing Yourself
I confess. I weigh myself at least twice a day and get pissed off whenever I gain 1-3 lbs within ONE day. It's all in my head. Your true weight is right after you wake up and empty your bladder. By nightfall, you've already consumed food so you'll be heavier. For the past 22 years, I was terrified of stepping on a scale and now I'm an addict. Lame.

Jealousy
Good post. I've been banded since beginning of May and have lost almost 40 lbs. No one in my family or group of friends know that I have had the band, except for my husband. I do not make it obvious in any way therefore no one has suspected anything. However, my portion size has gone down by nearly 80% of what I used to eat. I have had comments from friends such as, "That's ALL you're going to eat? Quit lying to yourself. You know you want the food." And I just say, "Actually, no I don't. I'm satisfied with what I ate, trust me." Before, I would hardly shop for myself clothes-wise. Now, I can't stop wanting to buy cute summer dresses and my 18-year old cousin said, "Ugh, you think you're down 35 lbs and you could wear anything now. It's ONLY 35 lbs." I know there's jealousy and people are getting used to my new lifestyle. It's human nature to react like this so I don't fault anyone. I don't say much, but I know those who are genuinely happy for me regardless if they know I had surgery or not. It's the fact that I'm working out consistently, eating healthy and staying positive.

stretching pouch?
There will be plenty of episodes of pain in order to potentially stretch your pouch. My physician's assistant said that it is unlikely for the pouch to be stretched, but band slippage is more of a possibility if you eat too much. Try eating 1/4-1/3 cup of food instead of just 3-4T.. it may make you feel not so hungry. Again, refer back to your doctor of course and make sure that's okay !

Some people are SO IGNORANT!!!
And I bet my money on it that a SKINNY person wrote that lol. Clearly, that person has not done their research.

Breast implants and losing weight
Mine are under the muscle.

FFF
Just remember that the healing process is temporary and you will be able to eat food again. Hang in there. You're going to be so sick of soups and protein shakes after this, but it will be worth it, I promise.

Breast implants and losing weight

STRUGGLING.....
I believe that the hardest part of working out is getting your butt out of the house, into your car, and to the gym! Once you're there, it's not so bad at all and I love the feeling after a sweaty workout Are you willing to renew your gym membership? I think it's the best investment because everything is there for you for a full body workout. I'm a 24hour fitness member and I love their group X classes. If not a gym membership, then I recommend an xbox KINECT with different workout games and dancing games. The dancing games have workout modes and will calculate how many calories you burn. Good luck!!

weight loss
The initial weight loss is Water weight. Most people will experience a large amount of weight loss in the beginning (even pre op). But once you're a month post op and on to solid foods, it's going to slow down, but it's still coming off! Someone mentioned that this isn't bypass and they're right. Bandsters average 1-2 lbs per week whereas a bypass patient averages a pound a day (my doctor said so). Just be glad you're losing weight! I've read posts where people aren't losing at all. Keep up with that you're doing. It's working , trust me

85 lbs in 1 year??
I am wondering the same thing! I am two months post op and have lost 30+ lbs. ( I know weight comes off quicker right after surgery), but I am loving how the pounds are coming off regardless. I have been so much happier of a person. Good luck to the both of us

Emotional Stages of Lapband
I couldn't have said it better! That is exactly what I went through lol. I am on the same boat as you with the next stage. Weight loss has been gradual and good for me so far and I am so thankful. Hope yours has been too

WOW...Okay! >.<
You need to.start buying your own food if your mom won't. And I agree with other comments that it is YOUR responsibility to make follow up appointments. The key to band success is having follow ups and attending support groups. How old were you when you had the surgery? I'm sorry to hear that you're depressed. Try looking into attending a few local support classes and do your best to get back on track.

Getting Stuck Sucks!
Thanks for sharing! And I am sorry you had a stuck episode. I have only had one fill two 1/2 weeks ago so food is still going down easily for me. I hope you feel better!

24 Hour Fitness Turbo Kick boxing class
It's very much similar to Chalene Johnson's Beach body TURBO JAM. It has alot of her moves (that's why I nailed every move during my first class) Loved the class. An hour's worth of constant movements and it's fun! I actually like it alot more than ZUMBA (sorry people). I don't like the latin-inspired music.. If you haven't tried it, I do recommend trying out BOTH classes to see if you're more of a ZUMBA person or a TURBO kickboxing person. Just wanted to share!

Grieving the death of popcorn...
I loveee me some popcorn! I buy the smart pops which is lower in calories and fat. Don't worry honey! You'll be able to eat popcorn again in the future. You can pretty much eat all the foods you once loved, but just in much, much smaller portions and preferably a healthier version of it. I still don't do fried foods, but I do fall under the carbohydrate spell...I can't say no to carbs...

Numerology anyone?!
Happy Birthday! And Congrats on your 30 lbs lost I think it means something too. I know this sounds stage and out of topic with lapband, but for the past five years, every time I look at the clock at night, it's always 9:11. I haven't missed a day of it. So bizarre!!!
