  1. You gain weight when you have the surgery, they pump you full of fluid.. I wouldn't be worried. You aren't even on solids yet are you?
  2. Yea, record your diet and see what you are eating, make sure it's under 1200, I know for me it was a big surprise how each little thing adds up. Also make sure you do intense exercise 5x a week. There is a difference between wanting food and being hungry, try paying real close attention to your body is saying. The band just keeps me from being hungry all the time. It doesn't stop me from eating whatever I want, that is what the diet is for. It's hard! We are addicted to food, but we gotta focus on other things.
  3. Yea, I always have gas. It's not painful like it was when I got my band, but I still have it.
  4. Yea it's about sticking to something you can follow for the rest of your life.. which usually isn't a fad diet.
  5. It doesn't really matter because water passes through. If you are drinking food, I'd go slower, to stay satisfied longer. But SLOWWWWWW is the method here for everything you eat, so slower is probably better. Your stomach isn't that big remember, it can't fit 20oz of water.
  6. YAY! Don't focus too much on the fills, focus on eating the proper diet, that will help you much more!
  7. I've been doing those too, not quite sure it's helping yet though
  8. Are you dieting? 1000-1200 calories, 64 ounces of water, 60g of protein.. and I would step up the gym, 5 days a week 45min-1hour. The band won't help if you aren't doing those things. I haven't had mine as long as you, but I'd go back to basics and remember what you were supposed to do when you started.
  9. I'm down 2. Phew this is hard!! I'm going strong though. I feel good. I got some new smaller gym clothes, bras, and underwear this weekend so that makes me feel good. I want some tips to lose faster! You'd think for spending 5 hours a week at the gym, and following your diet would be enough. Oy, how do skinny people do it? LOL
  10. I have egg beaters, with chicken breast and salsa and 1 piece of toast. I like breakfast to be my biggest meal for some reason. I eat right when I wake up, I go brush me teeth and stuff then eat.
  11. I agree, I don't think there is one. My band is 5.5ccs full, and I'm never hungry, so it's doing it's job. I still wanna eat though. It's all mental, I went so many years loving food, eating whenever and whatever I wanted. I'm working on training myself to not want it all the time. I know I have to control what goes in. I think too many people have the illusion that eventually the band will stop them from eating.
  12. I don't think it matters, I eat usually within 30 minutes of waking up and I eat a full breakfast, I know some people just have a protein shake.. I don't think it matters, just make sure you watch your calories all day.
  13. For me pretty sure it was 7 days full liquid 10 days pureed food 10 days soft food then I started real food day 28.
  14. Are you on solids yet? Could be that... or could be not band related
  15. I eat so much oatmeal haha! It's delicious.
  16. I went on vacation like 2 weeks after I was banded, no problems. Hotels usually have a gym if you need it. Just eat small portions and you should be fine! oatmeal, eggs, grilled chicken, fish veggies I'm sure you can find these things I haven't flown yet, but I can't see ANY reason why it would be a problem.
  17. Haha I'm almost at mine, hilarious!
  18. I could go 5 hours. I have breakfast around 10:00 (egg beaters/chicken breast w/ 1 piece toast) lunch around 1-2 (chicken salad & crackers) dinner 5:30-6 (ground turkey w/ cheese and salsa) and then a snack around 8 (oatmeal usually) I
  19. Yea, just gotta eat healthy and exercise. If you eat protein rich meals and eat slowly, it should curb your hunger, it's not there to do much else. It's not going to stop you from eating.
  20. Yea after 4 of 5 days I felt fine... the only thing is you are on liquids for a week or two, you might not have as much energy
  21. Fruit has a lot of sugar. http://www.sugarstacks.com/fruits.htm http://www.thepaleodiet.com/nutritional_tools/fruits_table.html here's a diagram and chart.. I would be careful.. it's just liquid calories. Would be better offer eating the whole fruit, at least it'll fill you up
  22. Just do walking, At my doctors approval I started more strenuous exercise 4 weeks post op
  23. I would call him, I doubt you are too full. But yea, probably just swelling. i was on liquids 24hrs after my fill. Then after that food felt funny for a few days.
  24. Yea I have that one, some good recipies, haven't tried any though ahha i'm lazy.
  25. Really that's it? I don't have this insurance, but they sent all kinds of bills for anesthesia, the surgery and things. I would be cautious there probably is more expenses, I wouldn't go spend that money just yet! Especially if this is a PPO, don't you have to reach your deductible or something..
