  1. I still blech almost 7 weeks out, it's annoying, but I can deal with it. I feel like it's mostly after I eat
  2. I think the pre-band education needs to be better! But yea, regardless I knew I still had to do work and that it wasn't a miracle worker, that was pretty clear. But it is a different experience than I expected. You would think you would know that before you or you would have your insurance company spend $13,000 on surgery. If it was every fat person would have one, and everyone would be skinny.
  3. Oh yea, but it expands your stomach doesn't it? Yea, my band is half full, I could still eat far more if I wanted to. Also I agree if I'm really hungry I end up eating more and eating too fast
  4. It's hard to break old habits.... but I don't know that your advice is that great! You shouldn't be eating pizza and soda (soda will rot your band), and now you can only eat mushies and telling people it'll get better and they will lose weight. I know there is an emotional side, but YOU have to control what goes in or you won't lose weight.
  5. Nope mine was normal. i actually got it like 3 or 4 days after surgery.
  6. Yep! I use them at home. Real forks are SO huge in comparison! I also eat my meals off a salad plate or a ramikin
  7. I don't think I would spend the $$ if my BMI was only 32... it seems like a huge process to only lose 60lbs. Half the weight would be gone from liquid and mushies. If I only had 60lbs to lose I would just diet and exercise.
  8. Oh yea, Protein drinks have it though, I don;t think I'd want the extra from Gatorade, or even like she said it's the zero thats just more fake sugar that could be giving the diarrhea. She's on liquids so it should be fine
  9. More Protein, more water! Those first, then the other things if you still feel like you need them. I wouldn't be concerned, you can't go #2 when you aren't eating solids. Don't Vitamin Water / Powerade have a lot of sugar that might not help your tummy?
  10. I'll have to check it out!
  11. Oh no! Sorry you are having trouble. I guess everybody reacts differently.
  12. The first few weeks I ate about 1/2-3/4 cup. Now I eat about a cup or a little more.
  13. Right. It's like normal. After a few hours I get hungry like everyone else. I'm just not hungry all the time. I was hungry when i was on liquids after my fill, but it was only one day, I lived! ahha.
  14. I could feel it going in, it was weird haha. I felt really full for 2 or 3 days, now it feels pretty much the same as it did before.
  15. I was only on liquids for 24 hours, I just was careful after that, but I didn't have any problems!
  16. I had mine last week, no pain really, it's just WEIRD. Nothing else I can say about it other than it was an awkward experience haha. They poke ya, see if it's full enough, then put more if they need to.
  17. I don't have a problem with em. I live alone, it's hard to make great custom meals every night. But, we eat so little I want my dinner to be GOOD! I don't know if you have Fresh & Easy but they have a lot of fresh refrigerated pre-made meals and they are good, they have some low-cal ones. I got a shrimp Pasta one today and it only has 260 calories.
  18. I'm not working right now but I could of gone back 4 or 5 days after. Thats when i started doing things like driving and shopping and felt fine.
  19. Exactly!! The band has a hole in it, it's not gonna stop you from eating. I got my first fill the other day 5.5ccs (I know big!). I can still eat the same amount, my small meal I was eating pre-fill, but i'm SO FULL and that feeling lasts for hours, I'm gonna have to eat less because it feels weird!
  20. I guess every doctor is different. i got 5.5 ccs in my FIRST fill. Which surprised me.. but you can't be getting much with 1cc. I feel very restricted! It feels good.
  21. Adjustments help, I'm not hungry almost at all.. ever anymore Make sure you only eat when you are physically hungry, and eat slowly, your mind can be a beeotch. No grazing on food in between meals don't drink while you eat. exercise 5 days a week.
  22. 5 days a week exercise? Getting Water and Protein in? Eating only when you are hungry? Hmm..
  23. Just make the same for him. The band isn't a "weird diet" I eat pretty normally, I just eat slower, and less. If you chili, he can have chili, if you have chicken salad he can have chicken salad. Just maybe his can be a sandwich, or he can have crackers with his chili.. things like that. If you have pureed something just give it to him in full form, then you eat yours pureed.
