  1. Yea for you!!!! Keep it up!
  2. My first few weeks...I felt "sad" and also felt why did I do this? You will go over this period. You really will one day feel better...it does take time. Be patience with yourself.
  3. You will do well....be encouraged!!! Take it a step at a time.
  4. Good for you. Stay encouraged and keep focused!!! You will begin to see some lost.
  5. LoseIt....I am thinking about Jazzercise...is it really fun? Thanks for any info.

We all have to vent from time to time!!!!! You have been so encouraging to others...let someone be encouraging to you. God is going to see you through! Just trust Him and let Him guide you out of the storm. Be encouraged!!!
  7. Hello and I am glad you are wanting to make an inform decision. As Giby97 said...you should try and do the lap band diet first. To be honest with you right after I had my lap band surgery...I was sad and maybe a little depressed. I think because I really knew I could no longer eat the way I use to. It was like losing a close companion. Would I do it all over again...yes I would. However, I would have tried the lap band diet to get an idea of the direction I was going to have to go. It is a tool....It won't stop you from eating...you are going to have to learn to do that with each step. But, it will be a tool to guide you. I am by no means trying to discourage you...I just really want you to take your time in making this decision. Also, you should go to a support group from your doctors office....you will hear people talk about their experience. I am grateful for this site...It has helped me a lot. In whatever decision you make....you have people here willing to walk with you. Be encouraged.

Very well said and expressed!!!! Thank you Jesus for your healing POWER!!!!
  9. SbuggleBear...good for you. Yes, you are right....we God all things are possible. Keep trusting Him and He will see you thru. You are doing right to change those habits now....that will help once you have the surgery. There can be a sadness of losing the ability to eat the way you are use to and if you start cutting things now...you might not feel as sad. Please keep us posted as to what is happening. Be encouraged.
  10. Stay encouraged. Have you ever ran a race and looked to your left and looked to your right and said...it the person to my left and to my right can continue to run...then so can I. We are here all running this race with you! YOU ARE NOT ALONE!!! We have to search deep within ourselves and find the strength not to give into our food call. You have it in you to do better...you just have to pull that out of you. No, it's not easy but you can do it. I believe you can do it...but you must believe you can do it!!! Don't faint today, don't give up. Find another doctor if you must but put it into every fiber of your being that you are moving forward!!!!!! You are in my thoughts...let us all do this a day at a time....TOGETHER!!!!!!

  12. Baby Girl.....you are here. Here with your children, here with your husband, here with your life. I know the band was something that you desired...but thankfully it is not the end of the road. I am praying for your healing and continued strength. I hope you begin to turn around immediately!!!! You stay encouraged and keep pressing forward!!!!:biggrin:
  13. Don't you give up or give in!!!! You are in my prayers. Be encouraged!
  14. Kentx...Are you doing better with eating the right things? I hope you did take into consideration what others said about sticking with liquids and mushy food until your doctor progressess you. We all here know that it is hard to not want to go back to those "old" habits....but just as you, we are all pressing through those feelings and emotions and doing what we need to do to get better about what we eat. You stay encouraged!!!!!:biggrin:

YEA!!!! My doctor did the one incision in my belly button. It went well.....but be mindful of the gas after surgery. I had to be really careful about getting up and down...not to use those stomach muscles...escepecially since the incision was in my navel. I did hurt for about 5 days...but everyone is different. The pain is no longer there. You will do well. Please let me know how you do. Now is a good time to start sipping your fluids...so you will get use to it. Be well!!!!!
  19. It says where there are two or three that touch and agree then God will be in the midst of them....I am adding myself to the other 2 people that said they would pray for your...now you let God know what you stand in need of. Eventhough, He already knows...go before Him and express outloud what you are standing in need of. I am a strong believer and receiver of prayer and I know that whatever you are going thru at this time....God is bigger than anything you can encounter. One thing I always recommend...find a scripture in the Bible that relates to your problem and you stand on that Word....really!!!! You repeat that scripture over and over again until you believe it in the fiber of your being.:smile2:
  20. Emma....the best way I can think of is to keep sharing with others how we feel. We need the wisdom of those who have already come thru this. I am right with you and I am keeping you in my prayers as we come thru this together. YOU ARE NOT ALONE!!!! I am with you sistah. We will come out on the other side.
  21. I think people don't usually say anything because hey....we are suppose to be happy we were among the ones to be banded and blessed to be banded. I am grateful but I just felt maybe I am the only one not feeling such a great big joy at this time. I do believe it will come but I wanted to be real about what I am going thru. Thanks everyone for your realness!!!!! I know we are all going to make it thru this and share with others they to can come thru the sadness. I too encourage each of you to keep pressing forward and know that something good is coming out of this. Let us take it a day at a time!!!!
  22. BabyK....I am out of work for 1 full week. I know some people go back sooner but truthfully I am very glad to have the whole week. It is a wonderful thing and I don't want to scare you or bring any kind of discouragement because everyone is different......in saying that....it takes a while to get use to being banded. You no longer eat or drink like you once did. And food has been a lot of our friends for a long time. Yes, I am glad I made the choice of better health and if I had it to do again...yes, I would. The few things I would tell you are....start drinking and eating smaller quantities of food now. Start if you are not already doing...walking 1/2 hour each day. Start getting use to not drinking with your meals....after the band you can't drink and eat at the same time....It helps if you start getting use to that now. You will be glad of the decision and happy to go forward!!!:smile2:
  23. Thank you everyone for responding. I am going to wait this sadness out. As many of you said....it's like losing a trusted friend who has been there for so long and now...gone. Yes, I am glad I made the decision to take back my health!!!! I am praying and asking God to direct me as I walk each day. Will let you know later how things turn out...... Thanks to everyone for the words of encouragement!!!!!!
  24. I was banded Aug 11, 2010 once I got home from the hospital I noticed I am feeling sad. Like a lost has happended in my life. I am getting stronger physically but I am feeling sad. I get my protein in each day. Is this something to do with the lost of eating like I use to or should I be concerned? Anyone else feel sad for a while and then bounce back? Thanks for any help.:frown:
  25. Good for you. If you have any questions, I was just banded on Aug 11, 2010....I'll be happy to share my experience.
