  1. I am in Montgomery.. I know people who had the surgery in Birmingham and Huntsville.
  2. Well each doctor is different.
  3. First of all, I haven't had a soda since being banded in January 25, 2011. It causes your pouch to stretch along with overeating. There is always a chance that you have stretched your pouch. you might need to do a pouch test this will also get you back on track with everything. Also, if you continue to eat the same things you will not lose you eventually need to changes things up including diet and exercise. I personally, can not eat bread, pork, and other meats. You need to remember to drink your water. Do you attend a support group?? this has helped me during the journey..
  4. I use some application on my phone.
  5. I do between 1000-1200 a day depending on my mood.. today all i have had is 250 at its 142pm here.
  6. There's always a chance of swelling from the fill. Thats why they haw you back on liquids for a couple days afterwardsto get adjusted
  7. then you are fine.. I didn't have that issue.. I have had three fills.
  8. are you able to keep liquids down??
  9. This is a difficult thing however the benefits out weigh the struggle. I had a horrible first ten days. But I am loving the new me. I feel better about myself. You will wonder if you made the right decision during the first day but when you start to see the weight coming off you will be like why.didn't I do.this.sooner. this is not.something you take softly. You give it your all and you will love the results.

You sound like you areready for a fill. Many.doctors wait until now or later. You still need to be cautious of what you eat. Your stomach isn't the same size.
  11. On March 26, 2011, I went to have a routine eye exam. Well, it has turned into more than an damn eye exam. I was given a referral to a neurologist because my optic nerves are inflammed. My appointment was on April 5, 2011. Well, after meeting with Dr. Epperson in Montgomery, Alabama he decided that I needed to have a spinal tap and MRI done. WEll, the MRI was normal. The spinal tap was negative for what ever he tested it for who the hell knows.. Well, I have done those test now he is wanting to do a visual test. I have no clue what the hell that consists of or how much is going to cost. Either you know what the hell is wrong or you don't. I have seasonal allergies just like the majority of the people who live in the south.. So, I assume that my headaches which are occassionally nothing that sends me to bed or the emergency room were normal. Well, I really just don't get whats going on.. I soo freaking aggervated, confused and to the point where I want to scream..
  12. My husband isn't very supportive on anything that I have ever done. I didn't even see my husband until I was almost a week postop. I stayed with my mother and father which is about 15 minutes from my house. Not to mention I had surgery on January 25 and my birthday was January 28. I even had our daughter who is four years old and he didn't care to evencome and see her. We have been married for eleven years in May 2011. Our marriage has always been rocky since the beginning of our marriage. I really don't know if any of this will help us. But I know that I am feeling better however, I don't know if my marriage will ever be a healthy one.
  13. I did tuna salad, chicken salad, chili,
  14. I am taking a Women's One a Day Breast and Bone Health. I have to break them in half and take them.
  15. I am not going to sugar coat this.. I am a sorry if you are offended by this comment.. First of all you need to stop going to these lounges.. i understand that you enjoy going out with your friends but you need to concentrate on becoming healthy. You got this surgery because you were overweight and this was the last decision on how to become health and a normal weight.. Your friends if they are your real friends they will understand whats going on. Alcohol isn't a very good thing to have that many times a week for anyone. excessive alcohol can cause damage. Watching you tube videos you will see that it can cause you to stop or delay weight loss.. You might want to consider going to a gym instead of going to the lounges.. I would think that once a week is okay but not three to four times a week. Another issues is carbonation isn't very good you are or can stretch your band because of that... which then leads to slip bands and complications.
  16. I didn't stay the night in the hospital. However, my doctor normally requires a day. two if you had bypass..
  17. you need to concentrate on something besides your clothes.. you have lost 80 pounds be happy for that. I know its discouraging.. but you are doing a great job keep up the good work..
  18. Well, I am offically twenty eight pounds lighter. I lost ten on preop diet and 18 after being banded. I am feeling a lot better about myself just with that little bit of weight off. I also in a smaller sizes now. I started this journey in a 22s. I can wear 20s and they are lose. After recovery I decided to cut off my hair and dye it brown with blonde highlights. I am thinking about going a little dark next time. I have gotten a lot of comments on my hair.. and the way I am looking. I recieve a lot of support from my parents, coworkers and bosses. Then comes everyone in the chat room and those you meet in Lapbandtalk.com, whom has also been a great help answering questions and sharing their experience. On a personal note: I have started to notice that my husband is becoming a little bit weird about the weight loss. However, he is also overweight. He thinks that if I am talking to a guy that I must be having an affair with him or anyone I talk to.. Its hilarious.. So, I just sit back and laugh.. I think I am becoming my a better person and I wonder what is he thinking.. This hasn't been the easiest thing that I have ever done thats for sure. During the first week or so of being banded.. I was sick but I finally overcame it when I able to have mushy foods or soups.. I have only taken one picture since being banded.. Sad, I know.. However it is my profile picture with my daughter. I have always hated pictures since I was a child so maybe this will change things. This is a journey that I am very excited about.. I will be glad once I get to start working out.. I talked to my coordinator at the support group meeting last night about when will I be able to do more than walk. So, it looks like next week. I will start doing more. When talking to Tara, I asked could it have been from stilling be sore at my six week post op visit and she said yes. At my week eight appointment I got my first fill. I had to 2 ccs added to my 1.8 cc that was placed in my band during surgery. Which I did not know that I had any fluid in my band.. but now I do. Which leads me to wonder could this have been my problem being sick after surgery who knows.. I feel as though I am rambling so if you are reading this I am sorry..
  19. I am glad that I am not the only one that is in this position.
  20. I had my surgery on January 25, 2011. I have lost 27 pounds now.. I lost ten on preop diet. and the rest has been during post op. i had my first fill on March 21. I was 8 weeks post op.
  21. each person is different.. I have only gotten stuck twice.. The first time was on baked pork chops the second time was on chicken.. first time was becasue the meat was really DRY.. and the second was because i took too big of a bite. I haven't had any fills.. I am scheduled to get my first fill on Monday.. I am seven weeks post op.
  22. You don't need to allow yourself to be discourage by this.. You have lost 25.5 pounds with the help of the band. you are going to have hurdles which you can overcome.. Once you get rid of this poop you will be back on track.. my god daughter had two feet of poop she would hold her poop.. they are going to have to give you something that its a little stronger like the laxative they use to do a colonscopy tht might help get you some relieve. I am sorry that you feel horrible because of this.
  23. I guess first and say that my name is Holly Boyd. I am 32 years old. I have a four year little girl Kaitlynn and I am have been married for ten years. I was banded on January 25, 2011. During my recovery he never once came and saw me at my parents house not even on my birthday.. I only leave about 15 minutes from my parents house./I am not receiving any support from my husband. He continues to downgrade me saying that i am not losing any weight anymore. I am soo freaking sick of this crap. I am soo pissed.. I really have no clue what to do.. I am only having about 800-1000 calories. I do want to fail. I have not been medically cleared by the doctor to do anything but walk.. He says I am lying..
  24. I haven't had an adjustment yet.. i probably won't have one until the middle of march or so.. i am four weeks post op..
