  1. I am four weeks post op. I am only allowed to walk. I have to walk a hour a day.
  2. I went through the exact the same thing. At the beginning it due to the increase amount of protein in your diet make sure that you drink plenty of water.
  3. I have five incision.. my biggest incision is 1.5 inches and thats the port.. the others are below a 1 inch
  4. I didn't drive until Sunday and I had surgery on Tuesday.. I had issues with nausea up until I was a week post op. I tried to throw up several times thankfully there wasn't anything to throw up.. but I can understand..I didn't stay in the hospital. I had surgery at 8:00am and was discharged at 630pm. Orignally they wanted to keep me but i wanted to go home because i wouldn't get any sleep and the fact that have a four year old little girl who depends on me and my husband isn't ever really around to help with her.. I didn't even see him until Sunday when I drove home. I live 10 miles from my parents. I stayed with them during the first few days of recovery so i could get help with Kaitlynn.
  5. I was banded on January 25, 2011. Three days before my birthday.. Happy Birthday to me.. I had some complications after surgery with nausea. I had to receive medication to help with it once I started on soups and protein shakes I was better. I am currently on mushy foods.. or puree's each doctor is different.. I am okay.. I had my first post op visit with my Dr. on Wednesday February 9, 2011, I am still only allowed to walk.. I should walk about a hour a day however, I haven't been walking the full hour just 30-45 mins. So, I am going to work on that. I am still a little sore on my port site. but I am doing pretty good..
  6. I had my period prior to my surgery..and then the until the day after the surgery.. I had a VERY long one.. Dr. Mora said it was because of the stress of surgery.. you might want to take that into consideration.. STRESS..
  7. I had surgery on Tuesday January 25, 2011. I tried to go back to work the following Monday however, I was only able to work half days until Wednesday February 2, 2011. I had problems with nausea.
  8. I am two weeks post ops as of tomorrow Tuesday.. i am not really having issues with being hungry. I have noticed a change in the amount of food i am taking in. You need to think about the type of foods that you are eating when you are eating. Also, remember not to drink when eating that makes things go through quicker.
  9. I am currently using Dr. Praham Mora's office in Prattville, Alabama. I really like him and his office staff. This office staff are great. They are patience with you and answers all your questions. Dr. Mora is very thorough and I am thankful for him being that way. I would rather have a doctor who knows what they are doing verses just cut happy. I believe very strongly that Dr. Mora knows what he is doing. Tara who is the individual I have been dealing with since trying to get the lapband surgery. She has handled everything with the insurance company. I also like the fact that Dr. Mora actually attends the monthly support group meetings and the his also bring some of his staff member. I believe this give them a personal relationship with their patients.
  10. I am getting banded at the end of the month, January 25, 2010. I chose to use a local doctor. I am using Dr. Praham Mora. He has did several of my coworkers. is anyon else using my doctor?
  11. Thats the way to be stay positive. Today is two weeks since my information has been sent to the insurance program. I am worried about being denied because I don't have any health issues except for the fact of being overweight. i keep in contact with my dr's office on a weekly basis.
  12. Unforuantely, no one really knows that answer because each insurance company is different. Depending on where you are located and Surgeon's office will handle things. I didn't have to do anything to except wait. I have blue cross and blue shield. My doctor's office will continue to handle things until I am approved.
  13. First of all you are not alone in your journey.. People are always here for you. They are just a computer away.. You will be able to build several relationships with individuals who understand exactly what you are doing. Just remember that you are doing this to be healthy!! I am on a four week preop diet. I am able to have Protein shakes for Breakfast and lunch and a low carb dinner. I haven't been the best but I am trying really hard.. It sucks since I am at work during all this and everyone wants to bring you candy and crap..
  14. my doctor would still have you on liquids coming into the puree foods.
  15. I am began my journey in July 2010. I attended the seminar in August 2010. I had my first consultation with surgeon in October 2010. I had my nutritionist visit at the end of September. Then I was medically cleared by the pulmonary in November 2010. Then I had my psychiatrist visit in November 2010. Here is December. They are needing my weight records from 2007-2009. I mean come on.. Its getting a little old having to wait on things. I mean I could have had this prior to meeting with the surgeon. So, now I am waiting on my ob gyn to send those records. However, I can't recall if I went to the doctors in 2007. Sad, I know..
  16. I have to be on a protein shake for breakfast and lunch..and a meat and two veggies for dinner or one veggie and one fruit..
  17. I am very thankful for these boards because you find other individuals who have experienced the same thing as you.. It helps.. well, during my pulmonary i had to ge a chest xray and abg.
  18. I am trying to stay focused.. but at times no matter how focused you are you going to feel like a failure or everyone is out to get you.. I guess this is my point. I am a type of person that likes things to be 123 instead of 1 3 2.. I really like order. I just knoow that I am ready to get on with everything and get to where I know its going to happen.. It seems like it will never happen.. I even had all of the money up front I am also worried about spending in on stuff.. I am soo tired of being fat and overweight.. I am ready to be healthy and be a good example for my little girl. i think once I have this I will one feel better about myself..
  19. I know but you get soo close then you hit just another bump in the road. I really didn't think that it was going to take this long.
  20. I know but I have been trying to get banded since July 2010. My breast reduction took less time.. Its just really disappointing..
  21. Well, after reviewing the calendar theres a chance I won't be able to get banded until January now.. Why do I have to hit obstacles.. I am getting soo upset.... I want to have it before I am 32 is that asking tooo much..:thumbup::sad::mad2::tt1:
  22. The depressing thing its might be January now..
  23. Well, I am hoping to be banded in December 2010. I was hoping to be banded in November since I started this procedure in July 2010. I did not have to do the six month weigh in with my primary care physician. I attended the informational seminary in August 2010. However, I didn't get an appointment with my surgeon until October 6, 2010. Well, after meeting him it was determine that I had to see the psychiatrist and pulmonary doctor. I actually visit the nutritionist prior to having the consultation with the doctor. My pulomary appointment is November 4. The psychiatrist is schedule for November 16. I am hoping that my insurance company can turn it around in a couple weeks.. I have to have this surgery this year. I tried to create a social groups for us December Banded but I am not for certain that it worked.. :sneaky:
