I am currently going through the process and was wondering how much time I would really need off of work. I don't have a lot of vacation and/or sick time to use and since I'm getting this done mid-year, I need to make sure I have some time for sick days etc., if my son gets sick or I get sick and my doctor visits after surgery. My plan was to have surgery on a Wednesday, and go back to work the following Thursday (the day after my post-op follow up). I have a desk job so there is no physical issues, but I really don't want to miss a bunch of work and am even trying to schedule it around a holiday so that is one less day of vacation/sick that I need to use. So what is the reality of what I need.
