Upcoming Surgery - Food Restriction Fears
My Dr. told me pizza was ok if you take very small bites and chew well. Just can't eat it all the time. My problem was that I would eat 1/2 of a pizza at one time.

Dr. took me off liquids
Had my surgery on Sept 10, and Monday the Dr. took me off liquids and put me on pureed foods. He said run everything thru the blender for two weeks and go on to soft foods. I get my first fill in 3 weeks. Going to try some Wendy's chilli tonight in the blender. I purchased two taco's last night and took out the hamburger and cheese and put that into the blender with a little sauce. Tasted pretty good. It filled me up. I used to eat 5 or 6 whole taco's at a time. Those days are gone. I also did eggs in the blender yesterday for Breakfast and added a little lite sour cream. It was good. Gone are the days of eating breakfast out and having 4 eggs, toast, pancakes, bacon and ham. And 3 or 4 cups of coffee and orange juice.

Did your Dr. call you after the surgery?
My son had a simple root canal done and the Dr. called him that night to see how he was.

Did your Dr. call you after the surgery?
I had a tooth pulled sometime back and the Dentist called me that night to see how I was doing. I had a eye infection and my eye Dr. called one night to see how I was doing. I was banded last Friday and no one called me to see how I was doing. The care while I was in the hospital was excellent and I do have a Dr's appointment (follow up) next week. But it does strike me a little funny that no one has called! Did your Dr. or staff call you to inquire about your surgery and see how you were?

Eating Pizza
I was also told that popcorn would be off limits but read on this site where alot of people still eat pop corn.

Eating Pizza
Could a person eat pizza if they cut it into very very small bites? Also my Dr. told me that I could never eat streak again, but what if a person put a few picses in a blender with some a-1 sauce, wouldn't that work.

Caffine
This is the first I have heard of this straw thing. I cut my coffee intake from 3 cups per morning down to 1 cup.

when to take off bandages
Had the surgery on Friday and I beleive the Dr. said to take off the bandages 5 days later. I was so out of it when he told me and I can't read his writing either. There are two types of bandages, little white one and some big see thru brown ones. He used some kind of crazy glue on me and they still itch really bad. How the heck do you get them off? and When?

probelm with burping
I have never had a problem with burping but had my surgery on Friday and now I seem to burp all the time, is this normal. Also my stomach aches ( maybe because of no food) and it could be because of the liquid medication I am taking. Not to mention the fact that I am very sore in the stomach area. I never had too much pain just being sore.

Medication question
Once you have the band and all the fills, can you take any size pill or does it have to be very small or liquid? Also once you are banded, how much Water can you drink at one time?

Itching and pain
Had mind on Friday and today I do feel like I got beat-up. I also have an upset stomach but it may be the pain medication the Dr. gave me to take home. I am counting the days until I feel better. I also feel like "what have I done to myself".

Colonoscopy
I didn't like the taste of that stuff either. I didn't have to drink the whole bottle. Check with your Dr. and see if they have something else available.

1st day with the band
I am in a little pain and very uncomfortable. I can't sleep and its about 4 a.m. I have gas and can't get rid of it. Yesterday, the day after surgery I felt pretty good until last night. So after reading all of this sites, I must be normal. I will be glad when the next week goes by.

1st day with the band
Had my surgery yesterday. I could not wake up, took about 5 hours to get those drugs out of me. I am really sore today and hopefully will feel better each day. The Dr. let me come home the same day. I have triwest insurance and my total payment is $25 bucks, feel lucky there. I also got the fills approved.
