  1. I was banded Sept 2010. Down a total of 25 pounds. Did that before the band. I am going for another fill today and have lost track of how many fills I have had. What's a sweet spot? I can eat all the food I want.
  2. Let me add, that right before the band, I loss 38 pounds. Right now my goal is to lose 50 pounds. I have read alot of posts on this site about people losing more than 100 pounds. I am not giving up, will keep you posted. thanks.
  3. I beleive I now have a total of 7.5cc in an 11cc band. So far the only thing I have had problems eating is chicken and bread, other wise I could eat all I want. Hopefully this fill will be it. (hopefully)
  4. Just got my 4th fill. Had the surgery in Sept 2010. I am up 14 pounds since then. I hope that this fill will be it.
  5. Hey thanks, I will try some, (thank You)
  6. Just got some new fish oil pills to take and they are pretty large. How do people with the band take large pills? Does anyone have a problem with this?
  7. so 4 fills so far and no restriction at all. (7cc / 11cc band). I am starting to wonder if this band will ever be right?
  8. I had my surgery on 10 Sept 2010. In the last two weeks I started feeling a little discomfort around the band area. As long as I sit still I am ok. Anyone else have this situation? I mean its not enough to go to the ER over but just wondering whats going on?
  9. My Dr. does the fills and he has me in once a month. Once a week seems fairly fast.
  10. I had my 3rd fill on Wednesday and am up to 6.5 cc's (11 cc band). I really don't feel any restriction other than have a hard time with bread and chicken, is this normal?
  11. Had my 3rd fill today. Up to 6.5 CC's now. The Doctor told me it might take a couple of days for any restriction to show up. After the last one I have noticed it is hard for me to eat bread and chicken. It fact, I don't because it hurts. Any thing else, no problem.
  12. My port sticks out, all most too much. My grandson was hugging me and found it. Its about the size of a watch.
  13. Mariasha: I really hope your right, but my Dr. said it would require another operation. He basically said everything would be the same as my surgery.
  14. Saw the Dr. today and he said that there is a possbility that I may need another surgery after I lose some more weight. He said the port might be to close to the surface and he may have to put it deeper. I would hate to have to go thru this whole thing again.
  15. I had mind done on the 10th of Sept. I have that same thing, but beleive its the port. I see my Dr next tuesday for the first fill and will have him check it out. Keep us informed.
  16. My insurance paid for everything but the Dr. billed my insurance for $2400 and the insurance paid him $1040 total. Now get this, the Dr who assisted my Surgeon billed my insurance for $1100 and the insurance paid her a total of $188 dollars. Now the hospital has billed my insurance for $26000 and it has not been processed yet. I also got approval from the insurance for 6 fills this coming year.
  17. Just wondering if the fill's hurt. I can find my port in the dark so the surgeron shouldn't have a hard time finding it since he put it in. I am also concern about rolling over in my sleep on it.
  18. Surgery done on Sept 10, 2010, first fill scheduled 12 Oct.
  19. Just wondering what some of you are eating for "soft foods"
  20. I would just hate for something to happen and have this operation again.
  21. This Friday will be three weeks since I had the surgery. Around where the port is, it feels very itchy. I hate to use the word weird but that's how it feels.
  22. Had mind done on Sept 10. Stomach was sore for about a week but the incisions still itch. Never had gas. I can feel the port. I get my first fill Oct 12 or so. I go to soft foods this coming Sunday (good for me)
  23. My insurnace told me my total cost is $25 bucks. I could hardly beleive it.
  24. I feel very thankful to my medical insurnance company. I just reviewed my insurance account claims and feel very thankful I have great insurance. Total billings so far are at about $30,000 for the operation. ( i went home same day) Of course they only pay a percent of this amount. They must write off the difference. Had the operation two weeks ago and am doing pretty good. Still a lot of itching but healing up nicely. Get my first fill in three weeks.
