  1. Hi all, Cindy hope you are all feeling well soon. Good thing you went and had yourself checked out. Michelle please don't get down on yourself, this is a journey and we are all in with you. I am at work right now and our unit is closed (low census). so I'm just catching up on mandatory training hours and helping other units when needed. Really looking forward to sleeping tomorrow.
  2. Hi Cathie, I just went through the same thing. I had my second fill on 9/1 (now I have 8cc in a 15cc band) and off and on for about three days I could not keep anything down. I was just about ready to call my doc for an unfill, but decided to give it another day. I started over just taking in smaller amts and it was fine. I did take something for nausea twice (Phenergan). I'm glad no unfill was needed, but if it had been I would not beat myself up about it. This is a journey, and nothing is set in stone. Shar
  3. Hey everybody! No nausea or barfing yesterday or today. Last nite the hospital was kinda slow. Back to work tonite. Feeling better feels good. Shar
  4. Hi Tracy, yes I am still having nausea, I barfed yesterday 3x. I think I started eating solids too soon. So I am "protein shake girl" for at least the next 3 days. I'm starting to wonder if I might have a stomach flu/virus. Anymore barfing and I'll give my doc a call. Anyway it's back to work after 4 day weekend. Hope everyone's week off to a great start! Shar
  5. Hi, I had my 2nd fill on 9/1/10 with numbing med and it was still uncomfortable. I can't imagine getting a fill without it.
  6. Good morning all! Having a lazy Sunday with my hubby, enjoying the peace and quiet. All of the kids are here and there. My daughter started a teaching job in Washington, DC two weeks ago, I spoke with last night and she is loving DC. I wish she were closer to home. My middle son is a junior at IPFW, and he decided to not come home for holiday weekend. I thought all the quiet would be sad, but I have to admit I'm lovin' it. Catch you guys later. Shar
  7. Hi all! Went in for my fill on 9/1 and much to my surprise I had lost more 5lbs. (I do not weight myself often at home.) I got a 1cc fill, that brings up to 8cc in a 15cc band. Having a little nausea since fill, but not too bad. Everyone have great (and safe) Labor day.
  8. Hi Tracy and fellow banders! My my name is Shar, I live NW Ohio. I was banded in March '10. I've lost 40lbs, but I have been slipping lately. My husband and I went on vacation the 1st week of Aug, and I have been struggling every since. Seriously trying to get my game face back on. I get my second fill on Sept. 1st. Wish me luck. (I'll let you guys know how it goes.) Shar
  9. What brand protein powder do you use? The shakes sound yummy.
  10. God Bless you
  11. The bypass is a radical surgery, and unfortunately most of the people I know who have had the surgery have gained most of their weight back.
  12. It does sound like you need another adjustment, but only you and your Doc and determine that, remember the Lap Band isn't magic it is part of a process.
  13. Hanging out in Northwest Ohio, had my surgery on 3/22/10. I'm down 36lbs, I've had one fill. Loving summer and the new me so far.
  14. Thank you so much, your words lifted me. God Bless.
  15. I was banded on March 22, 2010. I have also had a difficult time finding a protein I can tolerate. I tried Special K protein shakes and I really like them. I blend a small banana with a chocolate shake and 3 ice cubes, it tastes amazing. 1/2 banana with 2-3 stawberries in a vanilla shakeand 3 ice cubes taste great, too.
  16. Don't give up. The Lap Band is not a "magic band", but it is a major step in becoming healthy. Weight loss can not and should happen overnight. Celebrate the weight you have loss, celebrate every pound and every ounce. Do not lose sight of your goal!

I had my first fill 6/21/10. First couple of days were tuff. I started throwing up the day after, so instead of full liquids I did clear liquids the next 24hrs. Started back on full liquids (soups, etc.) the next day. I'm back on track and doing fine.
  18. I had my first fill on 3/21/10, and my doctor did use numbing medication. I think the process would have been painful without it.
  19. Congrats!!! You will not be sorry you did this.
  20. I too am a registered nurse, I cannot imagine adjusting my lap band myself. My best advice is if in need of an emergency adjustment, go to the ER of the hospital where you had your lap band surgery if possible. Also discuss the possibility of this situation with your surgeon to get his/her advice.
