Hi Strangers! How's everybody doing? The changes to the site kinda threw me. Holiday was super busy and I had to work. This Sunday is going to be the third Thanksgiving dinner for my hubby and I. I think I don't want to see another turkey until this time next year. Put up our Christmas tree Sunday, and most of our decorations. Talk more later, just want to hi and I'm still kicking. Shar ps... I'm in on the weightloss challenge that starts tomorrow.

Tracy, I hope your kids are feeling better and you are trying to get some rest. My youngest son is named Dylan, too. Right now I am fighting off a cold, so far I think I'm winning. I have to work all weekend...ugh! Right now I'm sitting here trying to get motive to do housework, I think I'll have a hot cup of tea and get started. Shar

Hi all! The weekend with my im-laws went pretty good. At the reunion there were still a few people that avoided each other. But that just eveything pleaceful. I did sample a few things on the dessert (just sample). Now I have to bringing all the Christmas decorations and tree upstairs from the basement. I'd like to have everything up and out before Thanksgiving (if I could get away with it, I'd leave everything up for a least 5-6 months). I love the holidays and Christmas is my favorite. Catch you guys later. Shar

Hey all! I'm still here just been real busy. This Saturday is "wood day", every fall my hubby's family gathers at my in-laws to chop wood for them for the winter. The men chop wood and the gals make homemade soup, breads, desserts. On Sunday there is a local family reuion, hubby has a large family and most of them live within a fifty mile radius. So every year we have a big family carry-in meal usually early in Nov. I've been sticking to my lap band healthy eating habits, this weekend will be stressful though (just a little too much of hubby's family, it does not always go well). Anyway, I'll let you guys know how it all turns out. Hope everyone is well and keeping their chin up, the journey continues. Shar

Evening all, I did not barf today, sticking to mostly liquids. Thanks for all the good advice. Liquid Motrin is a good idea, I'm going to pick up some on my way home from work. I don't think my stress level is any higher then normal. Catch you guys later. Shar

Hi everybody, I don't know what's going, but I have been barfing a lot. I'm going back on full liquids for a few days. I had my last fill 4 weeks ago, so I don't I don't know why all of sudden things are getting stuck. I may give my doc a call in am. Today I oriented on the Oncology unit, worked Oncology for years 2002-2006. It was nice, it is all outpatient. The unit I worked on previously was all inpatient. Hope everyone has a nice evening. :wink2: HAPPY HALLOWEEN ALL! I had to work last night and the hospital was really slow. Seeing all the kids in costumes on my way to work brought back a lot of memories of when my kids were small (my baby is 16 and 6'1"). We live in the country now so no trick or treaters. Friday DH and I went to see the movie RED, it was laugh out loud funny. Hope everyone is having a safe and sweet holiday (but not too sweet, lol). Shar

Hello everyone, I haven't been on line for a few days. As always if you haven't heard from me I not eating right. Last Friday Larry and I went out to dinner, Mexican food (ugh!!). Then on Saturday we went to Sauder Village in Archbold, Ohio. The village is an early 1900s setting. We had a lot of fun, of course the were a lot of old fashion treats. We ate lunch at The Barn restaurant there, I did well with lunch, but with the treats not so good. I'm not obsessing over it, what's done is done. Shar

Hi everybody, It has been a really busy past few days. I'm happy to say I have been eating like a bandster without much difficulty. Once I decided that I was in it for the long haul and not a quick fix, I don't make what I'm eating (or not eating) the focus of my entire day. Oddly it makes staying on track so much easier. Tracy, glad things worked out well with your in-laws. I too, have had in-law issues. Long story, get into another time. Hope everyone has a nice evening. Shar

Good Morn' everyone. I've had a kinda lazy weekend, just did housework and hung out with Larry (hubby). We are going to hog roast later this afternoon. Tracy, all is good. I have been keeping a food diary and it really helps. Diary helps me to be aware of what I am eating and proportions. Feels good to just have some down time. Sounds like you had fun on your trip. Spare of the moments trips are the best. Shar

Hey everybody, well I went to the doc yesterday and I had only lost .3 lbs. This is the lowest loss I've had since getting my band (3/22/10). I was a little disappointed with myself, but I'm not beating myself up. I know what I need to do, now I just have to do. Enough said! Tracy- I became an LPN in 1993 and RN in 2002. I worked in Oncology for 4 yrs. Now I work in CCU. Being a nurse is not what you do it is who you are. I can't imagine doing anything else. Hope everyone is doing well and welcome to all the newbies. Shar

Hi everyone. special welcome to Joan and Shalee. When I was driving to work yesterday evening, I kinda drove slow taking in the beautiful weather. I started thinking about my life and I realized that my weight/size has been a major focus of life for at least 35 yrs (even when I was not obese). And I am tired of. I have wonderful accomplished children. I got out of a very bad marriage and went back to school and became a RN. I now have a wonderful husband and a beautiful home. But there is still that small part of me that feels like a failure everytime I look in a mirror. Starting today, right this very moment I am done with judging myself by what size I wear. I want to be healthy and here for my family and that's it. I will no longer let my weight define me. No more obsessing I what I'm going to eat or have eaten. I'm going to eat right but, it can no longer be the major focus of my life. I have missed so much because of my obsession with my weight. I've been on every diet, quack weight loss program, diet pill, etc, that you could possibly think of. I am done. I am going to healthy, and do what I need to do to be healthy. But the obsession is officially over. God bless you all. Shar

Evening all! Last night at work kicked my butt. When I got home this morning I was too tired to move. Not much planned this weekend, just a lot house work. My hubby suggested we go to a fair in Hillsdale, Michigan (about 22 miles from us). But I don't know about all that "fair food". LOL Everybody have a great weekend. Shar

Good morning all! Thanks for the encouraging words, I'm feeling much more positive today. I restarted my food diary (it really does help me stay on track). I saw the clip of the downs syndrome student scoring a touchdown on the news this am, it made me cry, too. Have anybody else been plagued with co-workers making snide comments about their weight lost. There are a couple people at the hospital who have come up to me and asked, "So how much weight have you loss?" Hinting that they think I had lost very much. I have lost 43lbs! Sorry if I'm not losing it fast enough for them. Oh well hope everyone is feeling better. It is currently only in the 40s here. Tracy, its is 1 and 1/2 hrs drive to my son's college and 1 and 1/2 hours to Elkhart, IN. Of course they are in opposite directions! LOL Shar :smile2:

Hey guys! I swear I feel like just banging my head against the wall. Maybe then I can get the mind set I need. I am so frustrated with myself, but I have to refuse to stop believing in myself. Well enough woe is me, LOL. How's everybody doing? NW Ohio has been cool, cloudy and rainy for the past few days (hence my mood!). Well my son from college called this afternoon, he needs us to bring him a pair of shoes he needs for his new part rime job. We won't be able to do that until Sat. morning. My sixteen year old needs a refill on his inhaler, so we also have to go Elkhart, IN. I guess this coming weekend will be spent on the road. Catch you guys later. Shar :smile2:

Hello all! Gearing up for the weekend, have to admit didn't feel like doing much today. I did get my work in (38 mins on exercise bike). Tomorrow I'm going to start getting both of my sons' bedrooms ready to paint. Want to get them done before the holidays. Getting my eating back on track, which is easier said then done. Hope everyone has relaxing weekend. Shar

Good evening all, I just got called in to work, so much for the night off. Well at least I'll be off Thurs-Sun. Still struggling to get back on track, don't know why I can't get the right mindset back. I'm not giving up, but I am starting to feel a little disappointed with myself. I know no one's letting me down right now but me. It is frustrating. Michelle- My thoughts and prayers are with you. You are not alone. Hope everyone is having a nice evening. Shar

Hello all! I haven't been writing for a few days because I have been messing up big time. Eating everything wrong! It started with a telephone conversation with my ex-husband that turned into a loud unproductive conversation. The whole incident brought back a lot bad memories and negative feelings. So of course I turned to my former best friend FOOD! So for the past few days I just kinda gave up (that's the way he always made me feel). But this morning I gave myself a good mental shake and counted my blessings and I'm ready to get back on track. My top blessings are my wonderful husband of three years and my great kids. I know I'm going to be just find and lot healthier (so glad I got my lap band). So glad I found this blog and God bless you all. Shar
