  1. Yay!!! Congrats!!! I know it feels amazing. Just a few weeks ago I shopped at GAP... I never had set foot in that store because I was always so embarrassed of what people would think. Before the surgery I was a 24/26 and now Im also an XL. The day I went in there and started trying on clothes.... I literally cried in the dressing room, lol.

  2. You may not be eating as much but you could be possibly be eating the wrong foods. That was my problem when I had very little weight loss. I figured that because I'm eating less that I can eat whatever I wanted which in turn caused me to only loose like 3 pounds a month! Not cool. So I changed my eating habits. For break fast I have one of those super Thin Bagels with light strawberry cream cheese, Lunch is usually 3oz of any type of meat (usually baked or pan fried with cooking spray) and a side of veggies, and Dinner is basically the same as lunch except I usually include about 1/4 cup of rice with my meal and 1/2 the veggies. In between meals I drink about 32oz of water and I won't allow myself to eat unless I have drank every ounce of that.

I was told to completely stay away from pasta (slips through the band a lot easier and faster which causes you to eat more) and fruits (too much sugar). So I did and it definitely helps with the weight loss.

As far as exercise goes, I was doing a hardcore bootcamp for a while but now I just run at the park about 4/5 times a week for an hour or so.

    I hope this helps smile.gif

  3. Wow... they are obviously jealous. Don't let their negative actions bring you down! And if it were me @ my job then management would definitely be involved. No one should have to deal with that at work. I say put you pride to the side and do what you gotta do.

Green is an ugly color my friend...

  4. Being 5 weeks out the Doc says I'm fully healed. Because the swelling of the surgery went down now my stomach can hold more food (I haven't gone for my fill yet).

And yes, it made me sick. I've been fighting the urge of vomiting only cause I'm scared to death of my band slipping.

My surgeon has us do a total of 6 weeks full liquids post-op. Then on the 7th week... real food. *sigh* But I get my first fill next week which means more restriction & less hunger :)

  5. @Oceangirl: We are here for you... take advantage!!! I hope you get your surgery date soon. I know it was torture for me waiting to find out.

@Cathy: Good luck with your journey! It has its ups and downs but its totally worth it!!! I only had to do 5 days which isn't so bad... I cannot imagine doing 14!!! Wow! But you just have to keep your eye on the prize and give it all you got chica. You can do it!!!

  6. These feelings are absolutely normal!!! I felt the same exact same way.

I think its good you're reading those failure stories that way you learn from others mistakes and even know what to look out for. Everything will turn out great, you'll see.

It was the best decision I've ever made

  7. @LoseIt: Its good to know that I wasn't the only one. Thank You.

@Malassis: I will definitely be posting about my experience. I'll have my comp right by my side in the hospital room, lol.

@Bklynike: I also thought about the pasta, bread, and especially the RICE!!! And yea, change is scary but I know its necessary.... I know I'll appreciate it as well as my son will because I'll be a more active mommy :)
