  1. awe!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  2. I have the realize band. (sept 10th) I do not have a fill and will not have one until at least 8 weeks. My dr. told me this up front.
  3. Today I am happy because---- I have ankles and I have a waist!!!!!!
  4. I was banded on Sept 10th. I started my pre-opt on August 25th. From August 25th until Sept 22nd I lost 27lbs. Guess what? I haven't lost a thing since. Probably gained a few since I started solids again. I thought to myself- wow, I'm not eating a whole lot so how could I gain?????? You know what? I'm not in a hurry. This will work for me. I've never had patience but I'm just going to let it go.
  5. I thought it would be good to have somewhere to go daily to read something positive. I've decided with my new way of life I want to be as positive as I can with friends, family, work, social life, food, etc. I'm no longer the glass is half empty. So, I'll go first. I'm thankful that there was a medical intervention for me to change my life where food was concerned. I now have the opportunity to go in the opposite direction then where I was headed.
  6. For those of you who exercise- do you eat a snack before or after you exercise. I'm just wondering how eating so little food will give me the energy I need to work out. Anything you want to add is appreciate.
  7. Hey Ronda, I just want to say hello. I have relatives in Cedartown Ga. so I am familiar with Carrollton. I hope your surgery goes well. I was banded on the 10th and all is well.
  8. I've decided to have a carnation instant Breakfast around 8:00ish and then have several really small meals throughout the day to stay ahead of the hunger. I usually don't eat my cottage cheese until around 9:45 but because I have been physically hungry the past week. So I decided this is a great opportunity to try different things to help me with the hunger. Hopefully, by eating more frequently but smaller meals will help.
  9. Well not that kind of drinking!!!!!!!!!!!! If I have a canation instant Breakfast in the morning, not as my main breakfast, should I still wait another hour before I start the Water. I will have cottage cheese later on in the morning and I know not to drink and hour before or after when I do this but I'm a little confused about the carnation instant breakfast. TIA
  10. I'm getting my hunger back as well. I can tell when I get home from work that I am ready to eat. One thing I've been doing is- having a carnation instant breakfast drink late evening. That seems to help. (I make myself last that long)
  11. That is great Jodi. By the way, I tried to send you a PM this morning but it wouldn't let me???? I can only imagine what it must feel like to be in the 18o's. You go girl. Anyways, great job and thanks for the inspiration.
  12. I'm three weeks out and I just leave mine alone. It's slowly coming off.
  13. I too have the realize band and I'm registered on the site. However, I have a question. Is there not a Realize forum to connect with other people? I don't seem to find anything like that. TIA
  14. Thanks so much for the links ladies!!!
  15. Hi Everyone, I'm Sandra and I live in Warner Robins. I was banded 9-10 by Dr. Titus Duncan. So I am three weeks out and everything is great. I've lost 27lbs since I started pre-op. (August 25th) I wish you the best. I thought about surgery for two years before I had it so just be sure to do your homework.
  16. Do you mind sharing how long you researched the lap band and how long you thought about it before you were banded?
  17. I am three weeks out and I'm starting to get hungry signals. However, I'm real chicken so I don't over do it. I can eat a whole cup of Soup and yogurt but that's as far as I go. Other foods like tuna, I only eat 1/2 cup. I probably could eat more but again I'm chicken.
  18. Well guess what Brettalyn? I'm 44, 5'7 and weighed 241 on August 25th. Today I am 214. I am also a diabetic. I was diagnosed two years ago. I never took medication though. I winged it for 2 years. However, I knew it would only get worse so I decided on lap band. I was VERY fortunate that my insurance paid for my surgery. It's the best thing I've ever done for myself. It's all in the attitude!!!!! Good luck.
  19. at once on this board? I want to send a message but I hate to click back and forth. It takes forever!!!!!! TIA
  20. Does anyone know of area support groups? If so, please share. I would like to connect with others from Georgia.
  21. I was banded on 9/10 and wasn't able to burp until this past week. I was so relieved. Hang in there.
  22. My dr. gave me something for nausea but I never had to use it. There is something you can take to stop that. I hope you recover soon.
  23. I called the Dr.'s office just to be sure. I was told the reasoning behind it is, some vegetables can cause gas, upset stomach and it is best to slowly introduce foods. I was give the example of someone eating broccoli and it caused distressed to a patient. She said no veggies until later and definitely no fiberous veggies. I only have a week to go so that's not to bad now.
  24. I had to real bad also. My life saver was the heating pad. And I walked a lot.
  25. I'm type 2 diabetic but never took medication. My sugars are perfect since pre-opt and surgery.
