Who Went Home The Same Day As Surgery?
I found out yesterday that I will be going home the same day as surgery. I was really taken back by this. My insurance coverage will pay for me to stay the night but the doctor's office said it wasn't necessary. I'm just surprised. Sandra

Let's just say you aren't hungry for Breakfast, do you skip it? Do you eat even if you don't want it? Do we eat anyways for nutritional reasons? TIA Sandra

OK- I Need Some Friends- No,one Responding
lol Ok, so I've sent out some friend request and no,one has reponded. :wink2: Ummmm I usually don't have a problem with friends so I'm getting a little concerned. On a serious note, I'm looking for a few friends that I can get and communicate with on this journey. So if you are interested, my name is Sandra, 44, live in Georgia, married with two girls. Thanks

(I'll be banded on 9/12) Just recently I have experieced some anxiety and that alone with cause anxiety. lol Anyways, I wish you luck and I know you can do this. I'm going to do it with you.

Thanks for such an honest reponse. I can totally relate. And you give me encouragement because you are doing it another way. I hope I can do the same thing after 9/12. Sandra

So With All The Planning, Research, Decision Making
I just wonder though how the head garbage just goes away. I mean most of us are used to eating bigger portions than normal. Then all of a sudden it's shock. I guess I'm just getting a little scared(surgery coming up) that I will be going from this(huge portions) to tiny portions and how I will handle it. I hope I made sense.

So With All The Planning, Research, Decision Making

Do You Always Feel The Band?
I'm just curious if I will always "feel" the band and know it is there or does that feeling go away in time? Do you get used to it and come to not even notice? Also, do you feel like you have an object in your stomach where the port/band is? TIA

Do We Ever Come To A Place That We Don't Need A Fill?
I understand now. Thanks

Do We Ever Come To A Place That We Don't Need A Fill?
I'm really talking about a year or more out. Let's say that I've reached my goal weight and I'm maintaining it. Would I stop getting fills or will I get those no matter what. I guess I'm saying I would like to one day not have to keep having them. I would like to find a happy medium that keeps me from having to have fills. Does that make sense?

Do We Ever Come To A Place That We Don't Need A Fill?
I'm soon to be banded and was just curious if we will always have to have a fill or once you lose all the weight do you stop getting them? TIA Sandra

Social issues
Thanks all of you for the positive replies. I just got approved today and this really helps. Sandra

I Was Approved Today!
After two years of research, attending seminar's, and finally making the decision to have the lap band, I rec'd notice from the insurance company that I am approved. I am ready and also nervous about my new way of life. I'm sure I will be here often asking questions. I've already got a wealth of information from this board. Sandra

If a doc was in the "ghetto".....
I just want to comment on your post because sometimes I think people take offense to something as being a "racial" statement. My husband has no problem saying that he and his sister were raised in the projects/ghetto for years by his single mother. They are white. I think sometimes people take things personally when it's really not about race. He says the fact is he was raised in the projects and that people don't really know how that feels but I don't think he thought we are white people living in the projects--- it was just "we" (black or white) live in the projects. I hope you understand what I'm saying and I understand what you are saying as well.

How easy or difficult has it been to lose weight with Lap Band?

Do you ever have problems with the band though? Like being stuck or any other complications? Do/did you follow an exact eating plan as given by doctor? Anything you want to add is appreciated.

Are you completely happy with your lap band decision.
Thanks for your reply. Especially to those of us who are going to have it done and then think "what did I do". Sandra
