Is 3 pounds a week reasonable?
I actually was wordering that. I've been dieting for like 5 years prior to getting my band and exercising too. I was at my surgery date about 60# below my highest weight. I feel I have been losing slower than a lot at about 1-1.5 # per week

Excited for the band...scared of leaving my baby!
Lol alienbandit, whenever I leave for work I give my dogs treats, my older dog tries to rush me out of the house so she can get one.

Excited for the band...scared of leaving my baby!
Why don't you have someone watch her. I did mine outpatient so my dogs were only alone like 7 hours. If I had done it inpatient I definitely would have dropped my pups off at my parents house. As a vet tech and animal lover though, I understand you not wanting to leave her, I'm sad when I go on vacation and leave my dogs with my parents

Is 3 pounds a week reasonable?
I guess it is possible, but average weight loss is 1-2 lb per week. You may lose faster in the beginning but I would not set yourself up to be angry if you fail at if you expect that

How do you handle the naysayers?
That is why only my immediate family and a couple friends and my supervisor knows. I don't need to hear things from people or have people watching what I eat. Though the other day I wanted to strangle my mother for the comment my dad said she made. My dad was in my area so he took me out to dinner and my dad said my mom said the he shouldn't be taking me out to dinner because I'm supposed to be watching myself and when I went to dinner with her last time I had a treat of chicken fingers, which I haven't had in forever and I was craving them. Really?!!? I can eat what I want, and it was just a treat and she saw I didn't even finish them. So yeah, maybe later, but for now it is my thing.

I used the unjury, which tasted the best to me. I actually want to order more because I still use it every once in s while

What makes you happy?
I'm happy to not look in the mirror and be disgusted with what I see,( still semi disgusted naked, but that will come). I'm happy to not be depressed all the time about my life. I'm sorry to be blunt but for the first time in like 12-15 years I don't want to kill myself. (yes, I was in the mindset surgery or suicide and I lied through my teeth at the psych eval). I have more energy, found an exercise I enjoy (kickboxing). My life is 1000X better than before surgery and I still have a ways to go, and I will keep losing, but I feel so much better already

Fear
I was saying that WAS my biggest fear, I had surgery 5 months ago.
-
Fear
Having anesthetized hundreds if not thousands of animals myself, I know the risk of anesthesia. Yes, there is a risk, but in my experience death under anesthesia is few and far between. And usually they are the extremely sick animals that are high risk to begin with. It may sound stupod, but I think my biggest fear is that they would take my gown off before I was out. I am a very modest person

Surgery day fills?
My doctor said that the bands come with a little bit in them, so unless your doc takes it out, everyone should have a tiny something in theirs

How quickly were you up and about?
I went out shopping on day 3 but after being out for a couple hours I started to feel s bit nauseous. So I went back home and took a nap. The following day I was fine.

What is your greatest NSV?
I guess it is a NSV and also a problem. I have barley any clothes that fit me. I've never been as small as I am now (a XL top and 16w jeans, though I may be approaching a large). I only have 3 t shirts, and 2 pairs of jeans and 2 hoodies that fit. Besides workout clothes and my scrubs for work). I started cleaning out my closet and realized this today. I hate buying new clothes because I just keep needing new ones.

Blood Clots & Surgery
If I remember correctly from my seminar last year there was one person who asked about blood clots and I think my surgeon said if you had a history of them they'd place a filter in your leg pre surgery and remove it sometime after surgery. The filter will prevent the travel of the clot to your lungs if you get one.

FINALLY!!!!!
Congrats! I had hopes for the end of this month, but I seem to be plateaued the last couple weeks, so it's not gonna happen. Currently 206.8

What do I do?
I got chafed around my belly button last month, first time that has happened. I dried it out with alcohol, yeah it burned like hell, but I find it works really well. Before I discovered body glide for my thighs, I used to always chafe there and I always used alcohol to clear it up. Oh btw I mean rubbing alcohol, not the kind you drink, lol

HAD MY LAP BAND DONE MONDAY THIS WEEK AND......
I can tell you how I progressed, but honestly all doctors hhabe different post op plans, so you need to follow what your doc or NUT told you for what you should eat. My post op diet was: Week one: clear liquids, though I was told at day 5 if I was doing well, I could progress to week 2 foods Week 2: full liquids Week 3: mushie/ puree Week 4: chopped foods Week 5: regular foods

HAD MY LAP BAND DONE MONDAY THIS WEEK AND......
For the vision, do you have an antinausea patch on? If so, that messed up my vision as well, apparantly one of the aide effects. My vision went back to normal once I took it off. I was really worried until I figured it out. Actually I had forgotten it was on. For how your feeling, it is normal fir some, you had major surgery, your muscles were cut and everything. It will take some time to feel better. Some, like me recovered quicker than others. It will take some time

ENOUGH ALREADY!
I agree, I've never been good about taking compliments to begin with, so to have people saying how good I look(still have a wats to go) is hard. The other day I was at target, this woman came up to me who I'd never met before. She asked me if I went to Lucille Roberts, I said I used to but I do kickboxing now. She said I'd seen you at the gym before and that I look so good and how much weight I'd lost. Then she proceeded to hug me,. Talk about awkward.

Crazy weight loss!!!
I understand that. I've had times where I am so good with what I eat and exercise and have minimal loss and then weeks where I eat to much but still exercise and I lose more. So I am like, ok gotta up my calories, then I gain or maintain. My weight does crazy things

1st Fill - Still Hungry & Frustrated
Also with only 65 lbs to lose, you may lose it slower than with someone who has over 100 lb. And at 2 months out, I may have been below 25 lb lost and I had much more than you to lose. (still have more than 65). I am guessing you were self pay? I'm not saying all self pays are, but I think with those who are self pay, go through the process so quick they don't have time to truly educate themselves on how the band really works. As opposed to with insurance a lot have to go through 6 month diet, I know that gave me time to come here and see how it actually works. I am in no way trying to offend the OP
