  1. OK, I read your blog and now you have put your feelings out there and have fallen down. Now, get your butt up, brush yourself off and get motivated again. 31 pounds, that is a lot of weight and you can do another 31 lbs so please don't give up. Think positive. Think of what you had to do to just get the band. Like Frelance said, you knew it was not going to be easy to get this weight off but I know you want it off because you would not have gone thru all of that stuff just to get the band. I am a Mom so see me pointing my finger at you and lecturing you and begging you to get motivated again. You can do it.

  2. That stuck feeling is the worse. My anxiety comes up and I can not talk and just keep taking deep breaths because if feels like I won't be able to breath. I scared myself and my husband. I would rather have the slimming because that tells me to stop eating...LOL I am taking one day at a time and so should you. good luck on your journey and I am one of the lucky ones that don't have to eat anyplace but home. Cause I am old and retired.

  3. You said it, this band is NOT the easy way out. If you had the stuck feeling, yes you should be scared to over eat. Next time you put the wrong thing in your mouth, think about the pain you went thru. At one point, I ate too much and I laid in bed with a bowl under my mouth and was drooling in the bowl because I could not swallow my spit because of the over eating. Don't want to do that again. You can do it, just think before stuffing the wrong stuff in your mouth. Let your band work for you. I am down 52lbs since my surgery on Dec 31st and I am happy about that and I am even old.

  4. I am a newbee because I was just banded on 31st of December but found it is a mind game too. Yes, I have restriction and yes, I do get hungry pains but I find that I can only eat a little. I have lost 52 lbs as of today. Today is my weigh in day. So get that mind in set that you want to loose the weight and your band will work for you. They say drink lots of water, well not fo rme. I don't like water but with my shakes and soups I eat, I guess I am getting enough liquids. Set you mind to loose that weight and you sure will feel better. Good luck and hope this comment helps.

  5. OK, you two. I am going to be 60 this year and was banded on Dec 31st which makes me a newbee compared to you two. Now that you have fallen down, pick yourselves back up and get you fill and heck with those nurses. You each are a bigger person than either of them. Hold your head high and get back to letting your band help you loose weight. As far as the acid reflux, I have found the tighter my band gets the less acid refux I get. Matter of fact, I am off my nexium now. I am with you both. I would eat when I was depressed, happy, nervous, etc but yes, I have only had my band for just a short time but it is a life change so get back on track and watch your weight come off again and shoot for that goal. I am writing this to be your friend and open your eyes. Like some skinny people say that getting the band is the easy way out and those people are fools. This has been the hardest thing I have ever done but I refuse to give up even though it has only been a short time. Remember all what you went thru to get banded and keep reminding yourself of that.

OK, that was my lecture for the day and I hope it helped a little bit. Don't give up, your health is very important and if it makes you feel better, tell those nurses what is on your mine and do some complaining to them on how they treat you.

  6. I had my surgery on Dec 31st and I will be 60 this year. You are right, who would cheat on this after going thru everything that we had to do before we got the surgery. You think like I do. I am down 50lbs and have stayed there for about 2 weeks now but I am not discouraged. I just keep watching what I eat and how much. I feel great and love the idear that I can put my shoes and socks on so much easier. Good Luck with your journey.

From another not so young person,

  7. You poor thing. I have had one vomit experience with the acid reflux and it hurt. It was a Ritz Cracker that was stuck and made my food after eating two hours of eating the cracker, NOT go down. I did the liquid and mushies for a couple of days also and my band and I do get along now. You having your band over a year and this was your first time means you have done real good with your band. I have only had mine for 4 months. Good Luck to you and hope you get better and the two of you start to get along again. That stuck pain and the chest hurting is such a scarey feeling.

  8. Instead of using your mouth to put food in, make good conversation and talk to everyone. That seems to help me. I don't work anymore, retired, but when I am at social gatherings and everyone is shoveling that food in their mouth I am making conversation. Think that you don't need that food, think positive because you are going to be skinny soon.

    Good luck,

    Judy

  9. Welcome to the lapband world. This site will give you many new friends. When I am typing a lot my husband will asked me who am I talking to and I tell him one of my new friends. And you can get good advise on what not to do or what to do. So again, welcome.

  10. You poor thing. I have had the stuck feeling and wanting to throw up but it has not come up yet. Don't give up. Your band will start working for you at some point. And YES, it is not the easy way out. Heartburn is an awful word and finally the past 3 days I have not had it and when I was having it, I thought I was the only one in the world that was suffering with heartburn. Take care and I hope you start feeling better now.

  11. OMG, Tuna did that to me too and I even had mayo in it. My husband told me I had it in big chuncks and that is why it happened. Mr know it all but a great support person...LOL. I found that banana's will give me the slimming too. Tried it twice and now no more bananas unless I put them in my shake. You feel like you can not breath when that feeling hits you. It is hard to explain to people that stuck or slimming feeling but I know what you mean. It is so nice to know that you can talk to others about it that go thru the bad stuff but also fun to talk about watching those scales numbers go down. Have a good day.

  12. I don't like needles either and when I was a young girl a very nice nurse told to me to take a deep breath and when she put the needle it I was to blow out my breath. So that is what I told the doctor to let me know when the needle was going in and I would blow out. And it works, did not feel a thing. Sweating, shaking, and all that stuff stopped. So, I DO know how you feel about needles and I am an OLD lady.

Have a good day and think thin,

    Judy

  13. You are doing great but remember you still have to eat even though it is only a couple of bites. I made this pie with small pieces of chicken in creme of chicken soup, mash potatoes over the top with cheese on top of that in a pie dish and baked it. I took small piece like pie and could not eat it all. I got so full so fast. It is amazing how fast I get full. It is great. I use to shovel food in my mouth when I got real hungry, not anymore. I am happy your are under 300 and when you reach that under 250 it will wonderful. My goal is to be under 200 by summer. I hope I can do it and won't stop working for it. Have a nice day and think life, not food.

  14. Yes it is a journey and you must think positive. I weigh myself on Fridays and this Friday I was up a pound but this morning, Saturday I was down 2 lbs. Yeah for me. So the only one that you are doing this for is yourself and you know you can do it. Rough at times but like Shonette says....just do it.......................
