Everlasting Stuck Episode

Yesterday at work I was eating cornish hen and mustard greens for lunch (11:30am). I was talking with co-workers and apparantly not chewing well because I was talking too much. Anyway, got stuck....drank water, the water sat on top of the stuck food....water came up and food came up. Later that day, 4:00, I decided to eat on an apple even though I wasn't hungry. After maybe four bites at five minutes apart, I could not eat anymore. I felt super tight and full. Dinner that night (8:30pm) tried to nibble on a pork rib....was unsuccessful (too full to eat) and not hungry. This morning I drank coffee and tried to eat my dang cornish hen (not at the same time). Again, after a few bites, I was too full to eat. Same thing at lunch...too full to eat. At lunch I forced ore food and had to go to the school's nurse because my chest began to hurt (indigestion- took a pepcid). I served my familiy dinner tonight (6:00pm) and again had no appetite. I think I may have some food hung, partially blocking my band opening. I haven't slimed or thrown up anything more, but my last decent meal was yesterday morning. Has anyone ever experienced this? Is it possible to be partially stuck and not have any signs besides barely being able to eat.

Everyone has done this I think. After a stuck episode I have to basically start back over with liquids to mushies to real food over a period of two days or so like you do after a fill. Food really cant stay in there for more than a couple of hours but we can sure cause some inflammation and muscle spasm that feels like it! Good luck...PS meat is never a good idea until later in the day I think.

Thanks Xavier. I have been banded for over a year and this is my third stuck episode. All of the episodes happened this year (2011). I usually am able to to meat in the morning. My day starts at 4:30am and I drink coffee at that time. 7:00 is when I eat breakfast so usually I'm open by then. However, maybe my body/band has changed and now I can no longer it meat until later.

You poor thing. I have had one vomit experience with the acid reflux and it hurt. It was a Ritz Cracker that was stuck and made my food after eating two hours of eating the cracker, NOT go down. I did the liquid and mushies for a couple of days also and my band and I do get along now. You having your band over a year and this was your first time means you have done real good with your band. I have only had mine for 4 months. Good Luck to you and hope you get better and the two of you start to get along again. That stuck pain and the chest hurting is such a scarey feeling.

Happens to me, too. Like Xavier, I have to go back to liquids then mushies for a few days. My nurse told me that if you have a stuck/vomit episode that your tummy gets swollen or "angry" and you have to give it a day or two to get back to normal. Good luck!

Get some papaya enzyme pills. It helps get everything out. I use it when I am stuck. Once it is all up you feel so much better. And definitely go back to liquids and mushies for a day or two. If not it will happen again. Good luck to you.

Thanks everyone, lots of people talk about the papaya enzyme pills. I never knew about this until now. I will definately research where to buy those.
