  1. Hey Holli, I know you are going to be fine!!! My prayers will be with you tomorrow! Please call or write if you need anything! I'll be back in town on Wednesday! I'm getting my drain out tomorrow! Things are going really well and pain is minimal!
  2. So glad to hear you're doing so well! I'm feeling good too! I've been fortunate and not been nauseated at all! Have you gotten your drain out yet? Did you set an appt. or just show up?
  3. I can so relate! I didn't think I could handle the pain the first day home, but things have progressed smoothly and I'm feeling really good today (day 6)! Hope you are too! I feel so optimistic and it feels good!!!!
  4. probably all the above, but things have subsided big time! Doing Great! Thanks for your concern!!!
  5. I'm feeling better Lillie24, much better in fact. The pain has lessened and I'm getting my protein in! Life is Good. How are you doing? Send me a line when you feel up to it!:001_tongue:
  6. Tiff, You are so awesome. You are so good at expressing your feelings, no matter if its up (usually sounds that way to me) or down. Thanks once again for sharing your experience, strength & hope with us all! p.s. I got my sleeve Tues. 18th and I'm feeling pretty darn good today. The first day after was the hardest. I thought this was a piece of cake...until they d/c the morphine and sent me home...LOL I've been moving, sitting and sipping pretty good. Love ya Girl, have a great weekend! Sheryl:biggrin0:
  7. By all means, I did not mean to scare you! It has gotten better, much better in fact. You're going to do awesome! Today is day 3, Friday. And yes I still have some pain, but nothing like the first day home! Remember to sip, sip, sip and walk. The most help I've needed is in getting out of bed. p.s. They will give you a log sheet with 15 min increments to log your protein, pain meds, etc. I asked for a few extras to help me keep on top of things. They're very nice & helpful at Forest Park surgery center. Is that where you'll be going? Let me know and try not to stress. When I came out of surgery and that first night felt like a cake walk due to the morphine:001_tt2:. But honestly I feel pretty good, one day a a time! :thumbup1:
  8. :crying:Hey Gang, thanks for your prayers & thoughts. I made it through surgery without a hitch. I thought I was home free...until they took away the morphine. I was doing soul train walks down the hallways around 3am LOL. I'm home and was sent with tylenol w/codine. I'm in pain. Don't know if I'm just wimping out or need something more for tonight? Any thoughts out there???:biggrin0: Happy Destiny

  11. Hey Holli, sounds good! I haven't met with dietician yet. Did you schedule this through Dr. Nick or your primary? Let me know please. Thanks, Sheryl:biggrin0:
  12. Thanks for sharing your experience! 12 days and counting until my surgery! Glad to hear it went so well and remember...One Day at a Time!
  13. Great to hear you're having your surgery tomorrow, being a "premie" myself I want to hear how well your doing. Post a note when your ready, we'll be waiting! Good Luck! I'm on day two of the pre-op, doing ok.

  15. Hi Tiffy, I'm a self pay and they are requiring that I have an upper GI. Do you think I should get one? Just asking your opinion because you sound very knowledgeable about all of this. Thx, Sheryl
  16. Thanks for posting. I've used arnica in the past, but of coarse hadn't read the side effects, sounds like I'll pass post surgery! Thanks Avileda
  17. Hi saw this message. I'm getting sleeved on May 18th by Dr. Nick. Keep in touch, I'll let you know how it went. I'm self pay too, so I'll be going to Forest Park Surgery Center in Dallas also. Good luck! Happy Destiny (aka Sheryl)
  18. My date with Dr. Nick is May 18th! I'll be starting my pre-op diet tomorrow. I also was told that Dr. Nick was the best by a surgeon and an RN who has been in surgery with him. I had not told either of them that I'd already been to his seminar. That made me feel more confident in my decision. I haven't had much interaction with his staff except at the support meeting and my consultation date. I've tried to call a couple times (Lisa) and have a hard time getting return calls. That scares me a little bit. I had legit reasons for the calls..??? I hope it's not because I'm a self-pay patient.
  19. Thanks for this post! I needed to hear all of it. I too get lonely, rejected or connected with men who don't offer all I'm worthy of. I know my "picker"'s been broke for quite some time. I've also been having issues at work and although its not the same these positive reminders and new ideas help so much. I think because of the change which is right around the corner for me, life has gotten a bit bizarre. I know this is another lesson, Ughh, but this too shall pass and I'll be in a better place! My surgery date has been firmed up at work. My date is Tuesday, May 18th! Hooray!!!! Love to all of you, Sheryl:blush:
  20. HooooRayyyy!!!! Thanks for the note it's so inspiring!
  21. Thanks for the info, I think I'll try to buy online. Sounds like our tastebuds are very similar! Have a great day!
  22. What kind of protein shakes are you using?
  23. good luck with your surgery! Let me know how you're doing! New Orleans is one of my fav places!
  24. awesome stuff, thanks for sharing! Can't wait for my day!!! Blessings, Sheryl(aka Happy Destiny)
  25. Thanks for sharing! My surgery will be May 18th, but I know I will have to deal with these same issues!! I could totally relate with all of your feelings, but just as you are, I know I will make it through these hard days ahead of me. The key for me to get through things is ....One Day At A Time. This method of living has gotten me through many difficult situations and I have always been better off after the hard times passed. This life altering surgery, takes alot of courage to walk through and I cheer you on sister!
