  1. Amanda that is hillarious! Sorry but glad that you weight is falling off!
  2. Thanks for all the good advice! I got 2 protein shakes in yesterday and more water and I dropped another pound! It worked! So the same goal is for today. I could NOT do this without all the support on this board! You make me feel ok when I get worried. Tomorrow is my first post op appt. and I can't wait to see the dr. and the nutrionist! But ya'll really are the best! Thanks so much!:biggrin0:
  3. Girls I wish you both success in getting pregnant and I hope it is QUICK! When I was 34 I went to the OB about not being able to conceive and she laughed at me. Well needless to say 4 years, 5 iui's, 2 miscarriages and 2 ivfs later I got my baby! He is now almost 10 months old and a joy. When I was younger(28) I got pregnant within 6 months. I don't know if it was my age or my weight. After I lost 20 lbs I got pregnant again and didn't miscarry. I hope neither of you have ANY difficulties. Take extra Folic Acid and continue the healthy lifestyle you have been doing. It will pay off. I truly believe if you want to be a momma you will! I know the feeling of all your friends and relatives getting pregnant and you not. So if you ever need a friend or an ear I am right here. I will keep you both in my thoughts and prayers. Have fun trying and TRY not to think about it too much. I do have a fertility monitor that if either of you want to try you are more than welcome too! HUGS!
  4. I am into my 2nd week after surgery. The last 2 days I have not lost anything. I am not sure if I am not eating drinking enough or what. I guess from years of dieting that I feel if I don't eat I will lose better than if I eat! Here is what I had yesterday: Protein shake broth out of chicken Soup.... out of town and no other options SF pudding 2 SF popsciles 2 bottles of Water I am so scared that I won't lose anymore! Can someone please help!

  6. Wow Amanda that is neat! I live in the orginal part of SL near the Mill! Such a neat place that is GROWING so fast!
  7. You are doing awesome! I know the fears well! The head hunger IS the devil! Thanks for finding the perfect word for it!:cool0: I was terrified going on full liquids today... well here I am almost 1 hour into this protein shake! I see how full I get on such little! But it is our old habits that we are breaking during this time! Congrats and keep up the good work!
  8. Tomorrow I can start full liquids. I have lost about a pound a day since I started weighing myself. I am SO worried that when I take in Protein shakes, etc that my weight loss will slow. I don't want it to slow this early in the game(tomorrow will be 1 week since surgery). Anyone that can share if their weightloss changed after going on to full liquids or advancing their diet? Any help is appreciated!:001_tongue:
  9. That is my sleeve date too! Congrats!
  10. So glad to hear all went well! Can't wait to hear from you again!
  11. Well today I have had a cup of SF Jello and a SF popscile and Water. I feel like I have cravings because my family is eating good stuff but I am happy when I step on the scale every morning and see the numbers drop! I am not worried with 80% of my stomach being gone. I think if I would have kept going I would have had a lot more health problems than just over weight. Yes I am a RN!
  12. You look awesome! Thanks for sharing the pictures! You are doing great!
  13. Sorry for the delay Trish, I spent the day with my mom yesterday! I have never really had issues with reflux and since surgery I still have no signs of it. I hope you find what works for you! Good luck and so far I love my sleeve!!!!
  14. Shontel I saw your youtube videos! LOVE them! Keep it up girl you look great! I can't wait to start excercising! Maybe a few more days!
  15. Trish4 I went in to the dr. wanting the Lap Band. Didn't really know too much about the sleeve. As we talked he thought that I would do better with the sleeve. I had around 73 pounds to loose to get to a normal bmi so I think I didn't have enough to lose for a bypass. But I wasn't ready to go that drastic.
  16. Katldy congrats on being sleeved! Welcome to the new you! I agree that day 2 was worse. It is really hard to describe. I think you have the bloating from the surgery plus the incisional pain is starting to set it. It is a bad soreness but you use your stomach muscles to do so much! Then I needed to burp but couldn't and that causes pain. It is all that trapped gas in your body and it moves around making it hard to get comfortable. I got my pain med filled the 2nd day and when I took it, it made a world of difference. It is also the day you wonder if you did the right thing!
  17. Shontel that is great progress. How much more od you want to lose? I know my lose is going to be slower because I don't have as much to lose. Your pictures you look tiny so do worry to much! You are doing a great job.
  18. kkandrod I didn't even call. I know the reason I got sick. I was trying to make myself burp and that caused me to get sick. I will call on Monday though! I haven't gotten sick anymore since then. I got an ounce of
  19. I don't work, well I have 2 kids and a husband so they keep me busy! My hubby took off 3 days and he goes back to work on Sunday. I have 9 year old and a 9 month old so the 9 year old helps alot! I have felt pretty good today. We even went out on a walk! Eating lots of ice chips! As far as coming home, I just hate to be away from my family and you can't rest well in the hospital! Thanks everyone!
  20. Well i got the pain med and nausea med down and they made me SO sleepy so I took a 2 hour nap! Feeling better already! I even ate a popscilce and kept it down! Thanks everyone! My coordinator at the hospital and surgeon said it took 39 minutes to do the procedure and was the first patient ever to come hom the day of that surgery! I guess they won't forget me!
  21. Thanks everyone! I slept pretty good for a while but could not get comfortable anymore so I am up. I took a sip of Water and then I vomitted bile :001_smile: I didn't get the nausea med filled so I guess I better. It also had a little bit of blood in it. Is that normal? I will call the doc in the am, was just curious of anyone else experienced this. Thanks@
  22. Well I had my surgery this morning and was home by 4. I have some tenderness and some gas but nothing horrible. The worse part is my mouth is so dry. I keep sucking on ice chips but still not helping alot. SO glad this part is over. Now I just want to join the loosers bench. Staying off the scale will be the hard part!
  23. I made it through! Headed home in a bit!!!
  24. I think what you are feeling is normal. I am scheduled for surgery in 2 days and I feel the exact same way as you. My children are my LIFE. I think it has something to do with this being an elective procedure for me. I haven't felt this way for any previous surgeries I have had but they were not elective. So I am thinking for me that has a lot to do with it. I am TRYING to be as confident as possible and know that there are many surgeries performed every day and 99% of them go as planned with no complications. I know we will both be fine and be so happy with our decisions! Let's try to face this surgery head on with a postitve attitude and KNOW that everything will work out fine!
