  1. Wendyjoy, I'm WITH ya! It's so gross! I also find that since I've not chewed or really bitten much of anything lately, I continuously get a film on my teeth. Yessssss, of course I brush. (Dad asked me if I was! lol). Guess it's the price we have to pay!!:rolleyes
  2. Jack, THANK YOU for the lesson. I too am newly diagnosed; and on the same meds, twice a day. I was SOOOOOOO worried about my sugars. For some reason, the last two nights I've awoken at 1 a.m. with low sugar. I can't understand why this has happend. Any insight?
  3. Yes, I've quadrupled checked his list: baked fish fillets, boiled or stewed chicken! Tonight I had 2oz of chicken thigh meat; as I made Soup yesterday. I mushed it up really well in some of the broth from the soup. I didn't have any of the onions or carrots. But I will say, my tummy is talking like crazy! Not sure if its liking it or hating it at this point. Time will tell!
  4. Rene, I'm envious. I hate excercise now. Hmmm, one reason I'm fat??? Duh. But seriously, I so envy the excercise enthusiasts. I aspire, some day - to have the passion for it as you do.
  5. ...so I really hope I'm not offensive. Yesterday was my first 'post band' mushy meal. I had a bit of filet of baked fish, and about 1/4 cups of creamed spinach and I was full. This a.m. I woke up and had to BM. I have not had any 'solid' BMs as of yet - to be expected. Most of the time, its like I'm peeing. Anyway - I would swear that the spinach never digested. Was bright in color, and appeared to be the same as it went in. Is this possible? I'm a bit nervous, as I want to be sure everything intestinally is still working the right way. Want to be sure I'm digesting! Then the green color had me worried, as I know that can sometimes mean infection. Sorry for the grossness factor. :omg:
  6. SUNSHINE 2.....sounds to me like you should DEFINATELY be posting that recipe!!!!!! MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM
  7. I was sent home without peeing, and they never mentioned anything to me about 'having' to do it within 8 hours. However, what I learned here on this board is that the anesthesia can set all sorts of things 'into sleep'...bladder being one of them. So long as you're able to go a little bit - I would not panic. Its working! Remember, you're also not taking in alot of fluids right now - so it may take longer for you to HAVE to go. Be sure to avoid dehydration - I was told so long as you 'go' three times a day, you're fine. Never any mention of how much you must go. Good luck, and congrats on your band.
  8. Looks like I 'paid' for my first meal. I had such tummy aches last night, and woke up this a.m. not feeling too well. I would venture to say it was the spinach, the way it 'digested'... - seems it never did!!! (sorry to sound so gross)

  10. For some reason, today every time I take a sip, I get a twinge, or a pinch, down in my tummy. I thought I was nuts, then I tested it again; and every time the sip goes in, I can nearly follow it and time it - and it happens again. Is this just a coincidence, or can I really 'feel' the drink going down?
  11. I was told absolutely no ADVIL! Tylenol and like products only.
  12. Hey Jack, I do have a mushies stage; the fish is on the list. I suppose the spinach is not! Ugh...live and learn. I was told to keep it to about 4oz, which is right for what I ate.
  13. Well, here I am at two weeks out. Feels good to be done with the gas. I said earlier that I'm glad I had to deal with intense gas for 11 days, than have port pain that so many of you have. So tonight was my first meal of 'mushies'. I had 3/4 of a Gortons Grilled fish fillet, and about 1/4 cup of creamed spinach. FULL, fabulous, fantastic. Took about 20 minutes, as I was pacing myself. I would LOVE to have this restriction last, but thats doubtful. Also cooked up a pot of chicken thighs, bought some shaved deli meats, more fish; and I'm off and running. Wow, hopefully the worst is over. Oh yea, and I'm down 16 pounds, and my BMI has dropped!!:clap2:
  14. Marjon!!!!!!! PERFECTLY SAID!
  15. Kim, You're already back to work...where I still haven't gone back, and I'm two weeks tomorrow. YES, you are definately swollen inside. It took me 11 days to realize that the a.m.'s are really hard, when I'm most restricted also. I never thought I'd see the light at the end of the tunnel...it just took me longer to get there.
  16. It was 11 days of HELL for me with the gas pains. I was walking around the house all hours of the day and night trying to just work it out of my body. THAT was the worst part of it for me.
  17. Hey all. I find that I just can't get in the loaded heavy Protein shakes. I bought IDS New whey liquid Protein. 40g of protein in just 3 oz. Think that would sustitute for the thick shake?
  18. If that's my body's way of saying I'm full...then I'm full ALL of the time!
  19. YOU JUST SPOKE FOR ME, 42DD (maybe a 40 now!). Oh so true, how men love 'em. I do have one male friend (married) who hates boobs. His wife is flat as a board; and they're both happy with that. But I think he's the only one I've ever met. As for being perky...not on their own. I spend alot of $ on good bras, and effort on good shirts that FLAUNT!
  20. VOTE for JACK!!! I agree. I think I look forward to his posts more than any other.:clap2:
  21. Did you spit it out b/c you were scared? I'm terrified to try foods. It's like learning all over! I got very 'rebellious' today. lol Took Italian Wedding soup, blended it, and thought it would something 'different' than the cream Soups I've been doing. Yuck. Had the taste, but the texture grossed me out; so I threw it out.
  22. I have two cats: Martini (Tini) who's middle name is "Olive". She goes by TTB (Tini Tiny Baby, when she was a kitten). And Cosmopolitan, who we call Cosmo, Cozzie, Kramer, Bitsty (started out at Bitchy, but was awkward calling her that in public at the vet!)
  23. I have 3 days left on my full liquids; then onto mushies. But at this point I'm dying to 'bite' something, rather than just swallowing Soup. UGH! How bad would it be if I were to have a little chicken? Also, since I'm allowed cottage cheese, you think hummus would be ok?
  24. Hey all... For those of you who have read my b*tching and complaining...well - it's over (hopefully for good). Yesterday I hit rock bottom, and there was no where to go but up. Seemed that 11 a.m. yesterday I just said "Self, we're going to get well". I forced water down, cottage cheese, boullion - MADE myself sip sip sip sip for hours. Not one pain pill. I swear it was the gas pain in the back that was really doing a number on me. Anyway, last night I felt like 'me'...just different. Woke up this a.m., thought I was ok. Went for my a.m. glass of apple juice, had the protein shake - then WHOA! Didn't feel too good. Didn't drink for a few hours, as the 'pain the back' returned. Realized that I must be very restricted in the a.m., and I have to be careful. I was actually able to go out and about today! Mom brought me to CVS, where I dropped a ton of $ on 'stuff'...out of boredom at home all this time. Anyway, I hope that I continue to improve and feel better. Thanks to all who have given me such great advice. You're right; it did get better!:clap2: <!-- / message -->
