Is it normal to be burbing?

Hi All-

Colleen from Denver here, I was banded on Monday, Feb 5th.

I am doing great!!! Feeling strong, soreness / pain is minimial... of course using my pain pills...

However, I am having some major burping after I drink my liquds - Is this normal? Should I try not to burb?

thanks,

Colleen

I had my surgery 1/31 and had excessive burping for mor than a week. I called my dr 8 days out and he said that this is normal. It is the gas that they put in during surgery. Today is the first time that the burping is better. I still burp but not after every think I drink or every move I make. So it will get better hang in there. He also told me there is nothing to take for it. I tried gas-x as several had recommended however for me this did not work. Good Luck

I was banded on 1/31 and ever since I have been burping more than the usual for me. Several weeks ago, I called the nurse about this and she said it was normal. I guess it is one of the lapband side affects. ;)

I still burp 5 yrs. later...

You have new plumbing, and if you get a loud burp from the stomach up, it means your passage is clear. That's a very good thing. So  your not alone.
