  1. I feel your pain! Hang in there and feel free to vent anytime.
  2. I have BC/BS of IL *** - was denied the first time, second time went right through. It took me about 9 months from seminar to surgery though.
  3. JennyPenny- Hang in there - it will get easier and one day you will realize you're not hungry like before the band and you're satisfied much longer. Good Luck!
  4. Nine months out and never lost any hair. Also the gas pains were very minimal and were gone within a day or two. Everyone is different so maybe yours won't be a bad experience at all, even if it is a bit painful it is WORTH IT in the end.
  5. It is a wonderful feeling when someone notices!
  6. My burning sensation was intermittent as well. I was in a boot cast for 6 weeks, no issues at all today
  7. I love #4 - I will use that. I am so struggling right now. I had my surgery in November 2010 and have lost 68 pounds. But the last two months nothing.I am starting to crave carbs, especially sweets! I am trying to get back into the swing of things but it so frustrating. Any advice you can give would be great!
  8. GREAT NSV!!! I have to remind myself that I don't need to pull my seat up. Since I have shrunk, my belly doesn't touch the wheel and I think "Oh I am too far away" and then realize I am not.
  9. Mine was a burning sensation - three stress fractures - ouch! Though they did heal very nicely and I am running again, albiet at a much lower weight now.
  10. Absolutely- doors are held open for me, strangers smile - odd but true.
  11. My thoughts on this are this..we spend so much time avoiding pictures, looking in the mirror, etc. because of our distain of what we see, that we never really get a good image of where we are size wise. So as we begin to lose weight we start to pay attention to our body in the mirror and because we did not really have a good idea of what we looked like before losing our initial weight we mentally cannot compare. We see ourselves after we have lost 50 pounds as looking the same because it was after the 50 pounds we really started to look at ourselves so that is really our starting point. I hope this makes sense.
  12. Me too! My libido is crazy lately.
  13. clothes mentor - they are like Plato's closet but for women
  14. Target carries a brand by spanx that is very affordable. I love them - wear them everyday.
  15. Banded 11/9/10 - down 72# - would I do it again? Probably, maybe, oh who am I kidding YES YES YES! Best thing I have ever done for myself.
  16. I have lost 72# to date and still have a hard time seeing it.
  17. I just thought about this yesterday when I was wondering how after 65 pounds am I feeling bigger than I did. I do agree, it is because I avoided really looking at my body and being in denial for so long that when I now look I see the damage. I think this may be why it takes a while for our brains to catch up to our bodies because we ignored them for so long we did not really notice how large we were.
  18. Hang in there! You can do this - you will get your fill and be right back on track in no time. Deep Breath!
  19. NSV

    Awesome!!
  20. BRAVA BRAVA - Could not have said it any better.
  21. I recently got to say good-bye forever to LB too! It was a freeing and joyous moment! Congrats on your NSV
  22. I work at a hospital - he could and most likely would lose his job if he mentioned it to her. We never discuss patients regardless of how well we may know them
  23. Banded 8 months, down 67 pounds and NO REGRETS (ok one, that I did not do it sooner)
  24. I have the band and my friend got the sleeve two months before me. She has lost 67 and I have lost 65, she had more to lose than I did, we both work our tools but our bodies resond differently. I suppose it comes down to how much work you are willing to put into either tool. Good luck to you in which ever course you take.
