What Do They Have Us Do
I had surgery March 8 so I am getting ready to start solids. I'm kinda scared since I just had my slip fixed. I have been eating things like chili and string cheese, but I will start eating more solid things. I think I will hold off until Easter Sunday, and then try a few more things then.

Soft Foods
I've been eating around1/2 cup to 1 cup per meal. I am only eating things like chili, baked potato, and string cheese right now though. My appetite is starting to increase I can tell especially at night when I am sitting around.

Please Help. Stomach Cramps And Gas Pains
Thanks so much for the tips. It's weird. It starts in my upper stomach, and I can feel it ever so slowly working it's way down. It then starts all over again.

Please Help. Stomach Cramps And Gas Pains
I had surgery on March 8, and I am having the worst stomach cramps and gas pains ever. I don't remember having these the first surgery back in 2010 so this is new to me. I take Gas X extra strength, but it is not doing a thing. It hurts to stand upright sometimes, and then other times it only hurts when I press on my belly. I had this happen to me last June. It was horrible. I even thought about going to the ER, but I went to Urgent Care instead. It finally went away after about a week, but this has been going on for over two weeks now. I'm not using the bathroom regularly so maybe that has something to do with it. Any suggestions to alleviate the pain?

Question - Body Image
I might need to check on those books as well. I need to tone up for sure, and I plan on starting as soon as I get over this second surgery, but I still don't like what I see in the mirror.

Question - Body Image
I weigh around 178 right now, and I still feel like I weigh well over 200 lbs. I don't know why that is the case, and I don't ever know if that will go away. It is strange for sure. I also feel that is what people see me as. Someone who weighs over 200 lbs.

Severe Gas Pain - Two Years Post Op
I did the same thing. I had my first surgery in Feb. 2010 and didn't have that many problems with gas until last June. It was very painful. I even had a test done at the hospital because I didn't know what in the world was going on. It went away and I haven't had problems until now (my second surgery).

Fill Question
You really need to get some taken out if you are having heartburn that bad. Living too long with a tight band can cause a slip. I've been there and done that.
-
Uggg Heart Burn
Def. call your doctor. Sounds like you are too tight.

Im Starting To Freak Out Over My "bump" Image Included
Did it require being put to sleep again or how was it fixed? Sorry to hear your doctor didn't take you seriously at first.

Soft Food Ideas
I ate some pinto Beans last night for supper, and I will be having them again for lunch. Didn't really taste all that great. I think my taste is messed up right now. I am going to have a baked potato for supper tonight. I looked at my list again, and it says I can have crackers, toasted bread, deli meats during this stage. I have had some crackers the last couple days, but I don't know if I would call that soft food.

I'm wondering about the "full" feeling after surgery. What does it REALLY feel like?
It still seems hard to wrap my mind around this feeling. It is a totally different feeling that before I was banded. I think I tried eating until I got to that same point which is probably what contributed to my slipped band that I had to have repaired.

Soft Food Ideas
I boil my eggs, mash them up, and put mayo and salt/pepper in there. I don't know why it is called salad, however.

What Kind And How Long Did You Take Pain Meds?
I got Loratab Elixir. I took just about all of it the first go around. Not so much this time around. They didn't prescribe anything for nausea so my mother had Pheregan (sp?) tablets that I took for two days until it passed. I get real nauseous after surgery apparently.

Just Had Lapband Surgery Today And Yet I Don't Feel Hungry
I believe it is normal. Some people get hungry a few days afterward, but I didn't get real hungry until I started soft foods three weeks out.

Just A Question
I could eat it up to a certain point then once I got tighter I couldn't. I love bisquits and gravy and garlic toast, but I got used to not being able to eat them. Once you get stuck on bread once, you won't miss the bread one bit.

Acid Reflux Problems
I would get in to see my doctor sooner. You don't want to take a chance on having a slipped band which reflux could be a sign of. Sounds like you are too tight in my opinion.

Is It Possible To Live With A Slipped Band? Or Is Surgery A Must?
I had a slipped band for a year before I got it fixed. I may not have if I didn't start gaining weight again, but I really knew I would eventually have to have it done. Mine didn't correct itself. I felt fine for the most part so I don't know what would happen if I would have left it like it was. I won't want to keep the Fluid in there if it is a partial slip. I kept having reflux and heartburn, and it was in no way fun.

Soft Food Ideas
Are beans a good soft food? I've been wanting some good ole' pinto beans. That may not be good for the gas pains I've been having.

Two Things. Gas After Eating? Stability Of Band And Port?
I get these horrible cramps during the day. I guess it is gas? They are very annoying. I'm hoping they go away soon. I had surgery 3 weeks ago this coming Thursday.

Soft Food Ideas
I start soft foods tomorrow. What are some good foods that I can eat? Also, what portion size should I adhere to? The guidelines I received said 1/4 cup, but the sample menu they gave me had closer to 1 cup of food per meal.

Port Moving Around..
Yes. Mine can still cause me some discomfort. Depends on what type of activity I'm doing. Mine has moved somewhat since I've lost weight.

One Week Post Op With Bad Iv Pain
Sorry to hear that. Mine is still bruised but other than that everything is fine. Hope it's better soon.

I didn't realize they actually used stitches. I didn't have any, and my wounds were covered with steri strips.

Lovely Gas Pains?
I had my second surgery on March 8, and it seems like this time around gas pains are horrible. I take Gas X, and that helps for a couple hours, but then I get this cramping and pain in my belly. It seems also to be up in my upper chest area. It doesn't hurt in my shoulder anymore, but I am having upper back pain that started after surgery so maybe that is hurting the cause as well. I have been having these pains since Friday the 16th. Please tell me this is normal, and that they will go away eventually?
