Lovely Gas Pains?

I had my second surgery on March 8, and it seems like this time around gas pains are horrible. I take Gas X, and that helps for a couple hours, but then I get this cramping and pain in my belly. It seems also to be up in my upper chest area. It doesn't hurt in my shoulder anymore, but I am having upper back pain that started after surgery so maybe that is hurting the cause as well.

I have been having these pains since Friday the 16th. Please tell me this is normal, and that they will go away eventually?
