  1. You should be fine. I have 3 kids ages 6 months, 3 years and 10 years. I had surgery on a Friday and by Sunday I was totally caring for them by myself again with no help.
  2. I never took them either. I have a brand new unopened bottle of Lortab. But my Ob/Gyn's nurse told me that I have a high pain tolerance. I've had other surgeries and never used pain meds either.
  3. I get port pain every time I bend over lately, a bad sharp pain. Bathing my kids at night is starting to really kill me. It's fine if I hold my hand over my port and put pressure against it but if I don't do that then I have major pain just bending over to turn on the water. Will that go away soon?
  4. Hopefully that will do it for you! Let us know how your feeling.
  5. I know this is hard to hear but I would wait it out. I wouldn't let them remove the band right now. If there's any fluid in it at all have them remove it and try that.
  6. My FIL says I should just back away from the table. What BS!
  7. I really had no pain except for the gas pain. I never even opened my Lortab. I still eat and I still enjoy my food but I get full on much less of it and I feel in control now where before I felt like food was controlling me. I'm so happy I got the band!
  8. They said they could NOT understand why I was banded. They said banding was for people that were 100 pounds over weight and I'm not. Well I told them do you realize what I weighed to start with? They guessed around 180. I told them I weighed right at 230. Their jaws dropped. They could not believe it. Now they say they totally understand why I did it. But why do people have to judge? When I tell people I've had it done I also say that my insurance company covered it. So if my insurance covered it then I had legitimate reasons for doing it otherwise they would have denied it. Then I told them the surgeon said I should weigh 125. They are very against that. They say I will be WAY TOO thin at that weight. I'm only going after 140-145 but I think they will still be lecturing me even at that weight.
  9. IDK As far as I know the band and tubing are silicon and not metal.
  10. I'm sorry. I felt that way the first 4 or 5 days also. Where is the pain your feeling?
  11. You didn't have any wire in your bra did you? If so that will do it every day. The band isn't metal so if that set it off I'd get an xray just to be sure.
  12. I hadn't really thought about it. I'm just excited to be here finally!!
  13. I was banded in August this year and then in September I had a hysterectomy. No problems at all. They did say that my band had to be EMPTIED before they would do surgery though and I had to stay on Phenergan the day of and several days after surgery to prevent any nausea/vomiting. Between my band and my hysterectomy I feel like a brand new HAPPIER woman!! I feel awesome now!
  14. Okay I put this in a separate post also but I changed things up yesterday. I ate MORE calories than normal, really pushed the water, stayed away from the salt AND did 30 minutes on the treadmill. Today I am FINALLY at 199!! So excited! Now I need to work on getting to 180 next.
  15. I've been stuck at 202 for a week now. I'm trying to get below 200. Yesterday I decided to eat MORE. I had around 1200 calories instead of the normal 800-900 I've been eating. I really pushed the Water and I stayed away from the salt shaker plus I did 30 minutes on the treadmill. This morning I weigh 199! Finally!!! Now I just need to keep it up! My next goal for myself is 180.
  16. I've been getting a scopalamine patch before my surgeries lately. It gets rid of the usual nausea and vomiting I get after surgery. Good Luck and let us know how it goes!
  17. BTW those of you doing this on a treadmill what speeds are using? I mean for the brisk walk and then the jog?
  18. Okay guys I tried to do workout 1 today. I got through the warm up and the first 2 jogging sessions and I couldn't do anymore. I was exhausted and my calves were burning. I continued to just walk though and got 30 minutes total in. How long before I build up my endurance so I can actually do the jogging with no issues?
  19. I'm so close to 199 but I just CANNOT get to it. I've been 202 for a week now:(
  20. I would think your a bit too tight. I'd call on Monday and see what the doc says.
  21. I would love to see them do a show just for women and one just for men. I think the results would be more accurate that way.
