  1. I got stuck yesterday but luckily I didn't throw up. The pain was intense though.
  2. I'm from, and still in East Texas and I'm a stay at home mom. I'm also hoping to go to back to college at some point.
  3. Maybe your friend could go to a Lap Band Seminar with you. My surgeon encourages you to bring a support person rather it's a relative or a friend and he will answer any questions they have. I've only been banded since August but it's the best thing I've ever done for myself.
  4. ITA!!! Maybe she is really just jealous b/c she can't have it done?
  5. Well a friend of mine went from 425 to 175 with Lap Band and still has all her hanging skin and her health. Why are you even on this forum if you are against Lap Band? I'd rather take my chances with hanging skin than to die from a stroke over my high blood pressure.
  6. Congrats and good luck with your fill:)
  7. This is good advice! Hanging skin WON'T KILL YOU, being overweight will! I went back and forth with it and now I'm so glad I did it and I wish I'd done it sooner. I was just banded in August but so far my results are AWESOME!!
  8. I'm at 4 cc's now. I think 4 1/2 might be my true sweet spot b/c I'm almost there at just 4 cc's.
  9. That is true also. Hmm. You know some of those bras they wear are heavy duty. If I were on their and ended up below the yellow line I'd demand to be weighed in nothing but my shorts...just like the guys. LOL Those bras have to weigh at least 2 pounds each.
  10. That sounds really good:) Do you mix the protein in after the oatmeal is cooked or before? does it clump?
  11. I'll get this year's shot next week but we always get them every single year. I got the flu once when I was 13 and I swear I thought I was going to die I hurt so badly. My kids get them also.
  12. I love Nectar but I hate the fruit flavors. They are gross IMO. I prefer the chocolate and cappucino. Those are really great!
  13. You look great!! Good job:) You definitely don't look like you weigh 238. You look like you weigh much less than that to me.
  14. For lunch I had a boneless skinless chicken breast that I pan fried in a teaspoon of oil. I had a little whole wheat couscous with it. 3/4 of the way through I started getting terrible chest pains and a lot of saliva in my mouth. I thought I was going to throw up then I remembered I had some Papaya Enzymes so I took 4 of them and within 5 or 10 minutes I was fine again. I'm assuming I got stuck on the chicken b/c it was dry right? What do you use to keep your food from being dry?
  15. I'm not sure. I know I had a hysterectomy a few weeks ago and my surgeon was adamant that I get a bottle of Phenergan before hand and take it around the clock for the first 3 days to prevent any vomiting. He even gave me extra just in case the kids bring home a virus or something.
  16. I would see your family doc. Get your iron levels and your thyroid checked. Also make sure your getting enough protein and taking a daily vitamin.
  17. I have Mederma but I don't use it. I already had scars on my belly from my gallbladder surgery and now they are a really pale pink so I figured the Lap band scars should fade out and look the same way.
  18. Congrats!!! I wasn't losing before my fill either. But I'm doing awesome now.
  19. I did Lap Band b/c it has a very high success rate with a very low mortality rate. It's easy and completely reversible. Plus it's adjustable. It was a very easy outpatient surgery and I really had no pain from it besides the gas pain. I was back caring for my 3 kids within 2 days.
  20. I know a lady who's had hers for at least 6 years now with no problems.
  21. That's awesome! My surgeon only does 1 a month. But I think it's b/c he's only in the office 2 days a week. He's in surgery the rest of the time. It's always PACKED at his office.
  22. I had 3 cc's in my band from surgery and didn't know it. It made no difference for me at all. But on last Tuesday I got 1 more cc and I'm great now. I can still eat anything without getting stuck but I get full after a cup of food 3 times a day.
  23. So that their weight is more accurate I assume.
  24. Wow! This weeks episode was quiet an eye opener. Tanisha's mom is overweight and doesn't even want to try and eat healthy b/c she says healthy food just tastes bad. She doesn't even cook. She likes living on take out. And then Emily. Her family is sending her back for summer camp and they think she'll have so much fun. Her dad is overweight also and Emily's comment was If It's so much fun why don't they (her parents) go with me? She has a good point there. I don't see dad going to a weight loss camp.
  25. I know. I can't believe her mom wasn't willing to help her:(
